🌍 Happy International Volunteer Day!

Today we’re celebrating 490 incredible volunteers who give their time, care and energy through the Royal Free Charity, spending meaningful moments with patients and working alongside staff across the Royal Free London.

💬 Cornelia Valensise, one of our 490 volunteers, said:

“Since I started volunteering, everyone has been very kind. NHS staff are extremely busy people but they always thank you for coming and are happy to see you. I really do enjoy it. It’s a great experience.”

🏥 From time on the wards to fundraising in our communities, our volunteers create impact that reaches far beyond a single shift.

✨ Brand new café now open at Chase Farm Hospital! ✨

We’re excited to welcome you to the 1828, our brand new café named after the Royal Free London’s foundation year. Located on the ground floor (in the old Costa space), it’s open 7am to 7pm, seven days a week.

🍳 From today you can enjoy breakfast favourites like omelettes, sausage sandwiches and croissants, plus a lunchtime menu featuring curries, wraps and pizza.

🥗 From 6 October a salad bar and all-day menu will also be available, including chips, jacket potatoes, soup and toasties.

Come and enjoy the 1828 — a fresh new space for patients, visitors, staff and our community. ☕🍴
