Transforming research + learning @BrandeisU with Digital Scholarship. Building bridges across STEM, Humanities, + Social Sciences. Managed by @nsusmann
@JSTOR_Daily invited me to write a pair of articles about using Constellate to answer archaeological questions. Read about my research at the Argive Heraion: an infamous ancient sanctuary that transformed into an "off the beaten path" tourist site.

#digitalscholarship lesson 1 = digital tools aren't foolproof. #brandeismakerlab Tim Hebert + @NSusmann walked 2 mi w an RTK before getting a good signal. That's why @brandeisanthro1 students learn to map archaeological features w compasses + tapes. 🌲🌲🌲
This is an awesome digital scholarship project. It combines ethnography, 3D, GIS, and phenomenology + it uses legacy archaeological data. *AND* it spans thousands of years + thousands of km.
(this statement is potentially biased bc Natalie writes #brandeisdshub posts)
Why do people create maps or store mental landmarks? We want to find order and situate ourselves in the world; we want the same for our fantasy characters. Middle Earth might not exist, but we're compelled to help the Fellowship and model a tangible, measurable landscape.
Learn how @BrandeisEnglish Prof John Burt uses LaTex in his teaching and research, and why you might want to integrate this computer language in your writing.

Are you a digital archaeology nerd, or even just curious? CAA is an amazing conference w broad coverage of topics, technologies, + skill levels. Their site is super helpful too. CAA's previous session lists are a great bibliography-builder! #classicstwitter#archaeologytwitter
We recently founded a Women in Physics group at Brandeis University. The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences covered the story in this short article. Hoping to have some positive impact on the gender disparity in physics.

Reading handwriting is hard, especially when you're dealing with historic texts. Build your own image recognition tool + let your computer "read" for you!
Free workshop! Some Python experience is recommended (+ luckily there's a workshop for that too!) https://t.co/NrqW5m9OfY
#Humanities/#Socialsciences ppl: want to learn #coding + have no idea where to begin?
#Python = great option for cultural studies. Organize sources; find patterns in texts; detect sentiment + more!
Looking @ you @BrandeisGSAS students! Grow that cv!
