OnlyFans went down today and so did we, it wasn't on accident. What caused all the downtime and should you be worried as a creator?

Two critical bugs were identified in PHP (the programming language behind around 70% of all websites, not just adult ones) which would allow cyber attacker to remotely access websites.

A fix has been released which is what caused site maintenance across the industry today. Your preferred website being down is a good thing, it means they were fixing the dangerous code.

The biggest danger to creators is that attackers and hackers WILL be looking for websites that did not patch. Over the next few weeks, it's very likely we'll see many websites hacked.

Depending on where a website stores your legal information like your legal name, email, address, and payment details, your data could be at risk if your preferred websites don't make this fix. Most of the legitimate websites have already started patching or completed their patch but there is a chance a website you utilize hasn't done the patch yet.

A quick to-do to keep yourself safe as cyber attacks start:
-Confirm with websites that have your data if they have deployed this fix or are impacted by PHP (Not all sites run on PHP)
-Run upgrades on all devices like ios, browsers and tools you use
-Run a breach scanning tool to look for your personal information https://t.co/fHES3RbtK9 has one
-Change your passwords and don't use the same passwords on every website
-Turn on 2fa everywhere that you can
-Ignore any emails telling you to install things or verify your account if you can't confirm it's legitimate

No law says a site has to keep your video down after a takedown. US law is takedown, not stay-down, which is why the same file is back next week.

That's why consistent coverage matters 🗣️

What comes up when a fan Googles you? 🔎 If it's a leak site, that's where your earnings are going.

Rank your own pages first & every search sends fans where you want them to pay. A DMCA service clears the leaks out of your results and leaves your legit pages standing, so your name only works for you 👀

The viewer count on your cam show includes the bots recording it. 🤖

Automated recorders capture public shows on cam sites and upload them under your cam handle within hours, and privates get screen recorded by the buyer. The two things that help: a watermark that sits in the frame, and scanning that runs on your cam handle, not just your stage name.
