I am Papa to three tremendous kids and a pop singer/songwriter. You may have heard my songs before, or maybe you haven't. I hope you have; either way, cheers!
The launch-code issue is irrelevant. We gave our word—Under the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, Ukraine agreed to give up the nuclear weapons on its territory, and the USA promised security assurances respecting Ukraine’s sovereignty and borders. That’s a matter of historical record. I’d hope we all want Ukraine to retain its sovereignty.
Rep. Keating to Rubio: "I'm sure you're aware that Ukraine, country that at the time had third-largest nuclear arsenal, peacefully turned over their nuclear weapons in conjunction with Budapest Memorandum.
And in exchange for U.S. commitment to defend Ukraine if it ever came under threat. The U.S. gave its word to Ukraine that it would defend them.
And I find this amazing. In your opening remarks, as you took us all over the world and mentioned 15 different incidents where you have interceded — 15, the top 15 — not once did you mention Ukraine when you were prioritizing achievements that are there."
Agree. Ideally yes, it's not been good to say the least. But the criteria of just putting anyone into power, with power being the keyword - due to how it can corrupt some, may backfire and end up taking us into a worse situation, which I think is the case and has been with some nominations--- too much to get into. Maybe all this will help shed what's bad of the last 30--shake off what needs to change, create a bit better government--realizing Politics will never be perfect- of course. This might take 30 years to read - long!
@IRMAARetirement@GavinNewsom I'm no expert, but anyone with extensive experience. People like Michael Morell, Sue Gordon, and Christopher Inglis have decades of intelligence leadership experience, which is more relevant to the job. I know you also have to add in TRUST with the president, but... Thx again.
@atrupar Did you include any new healthcare benefits, infrastructure improvements, a plan to lower the cost of living, or even a plan to get the hell out of the reckless, ill-conceived war you started on that reflecting pool chart?
@IRMAARetirement@GavinNewsom Having "some" national intelligence experience. He has none. He was in housing and mortgages. Thanks for keeping it civil.
@conservfam7 Yeah, you can't equate having bad feelings about Trump to hating America, although that's his grift—one of many. Have you ever had a horrible boss but still liked the company you worked for?
@GavinNewsom No reporter who has a succession of valid, contradictory questions will ever be allowed to interview Trump again because he can't handle even a semblance of the truth. Because the truth is his kryptonite.
Obama’s Iran deal wasn’t a cash gift for nukes—it included the release of some of Iran’s own frozen 1979 assets plus sanctions relief in exchange for major nuclear rollbacks: ~98% of enriched uranium removed, 2/3 of centrifuges dismantled, strict inspections, and a much longer breakout time. SUMMARY: sanction relief for major nuclear rollbacks. Trump sacrificed 13 soldiers' lives, 200 school children, billions spent, ammunition depleted, more power to Iran, and only for everything he ripped up in Obama's deal.
@PrivateReports Well, just on one of the biggest issues: Obama used diplomacy to put real limits on Iran’s nuclear program—without war, without threatening global shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, and without innocent children dying.
