I had a fantastic conversation (that I have linked below) with Jack Fink from CBS11 about Texas elections this fall, what we're seeing across the state up and down the ballot, and what each U.S. Senate candidate needs to do to win.

One development since we recorded: MAGA Inc. has begun deploying its long-awaited war chest in the race, committing $10 million to support Ken Paxton and oppose James Talarico. As we discussed, the outside spending could provide a significant boost for Paxton, who has badly needed outside financial support after being substantially outraised by Talarico's campaign thus far. But, Republicans generally have better funded outside investment infrastructure while Dems have donated directly to candidates. We'll be watching closely to see whether the influx of spending translates into a positive movement in the polls for Paxton.
