The Cowboys are working to hire Christian Parker as their defensive coordinator, sources tell me and @RapSheet.
Just 34 years old, Parker spent the past two seasons as passing game coordinator/DBs coach under Vic Fangio with the Eagles. Now gets his first DC job in the NFC East.
Sources: Dallas Cowboys fired defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. Cowboys now will be going on their fourth different defensive coordinator in four seasons.
Kenneth Murray has been a liability all year long. Slow reactions, bad run fits, high missed tackles, and bottom-tier coverage — the same issues he had with his previous team showed up again in Dallas. You can’t find any tape from camp, preseason, or the season that justifies him starting. This isn’t personal, it’s performance. And the #Cowboys paid the price for not addressing this position sooner.

#Cowboys lack of accountability with certain players is exactly what put them in these situations. You can’t find a single piece of tape, not from training camp, preseason, or the regular season, that justifies why Kenneth Murray Jr. should’ve been a starting linebacker on this team.
This is not an attack on him personally, but his play has been the same all season long. Kenneth Murray has consistently graded near the bottom of the league in coverage, missed tackles at a high rate, and struggled with run fits, the exact issues he dealt with during his time with the Chargers. Those problems didn’t magically disappear. They showed up every week in Dallas.
The Cowboys wasted everyone’s time this season by being stubborn with this position. They would have been better off developing someone else and letting them grow into the role because number 59 Kenneth Murray has been a liability all year long with poor angles, slow reaction, and one of the highest missed tackle totals among linebackers.
Accountability matters. And the lack of it at this spot cost them.

Ok Im done wigging out!! The way I frame this to make it make sense for me is that Donovan Eazy & Slam will be getting more reps along side Fowler who will also get more reps with Micah gone, the question is can those 3 rotate and give you what Micah gave production wise? I think yes. I have Micah giving u 10-15 sacks a season and pressures galore, I think those 3 are all capable of 10 sacks plus seasons each if given the reps, the difference is their run stopping ability
The major factor though, is that I think that outside of Dono who I’m unsure about because he’s a rookie, I think that all of the other DE’s on the team are better run defenders from the edge than Micah. Micah is a supreme passrusher & stops the run better when he’s off ball because of all the hits and chips he takes at the edge position & he thinks like a Lb so his pursuit is great, but consistently setting the edge has never been his thing, nor Tank Lawrence. Both have given up big plays vs edge runs every year, maybe the blue collar coalition that we have left are better in that area.
Kenny Clark & OSA starting give you Solomon Thomas/Winfrey and Mazi as your second unit! And you can mix those 4 up how u choose. I think that this front 4 no matter how you arrange them can stop the run Better both inside and outside
That’s the truth, but it still hurts
If they use those picks for 2 more players who can help us and maybe being able to sign Pickens makes this not so horrible. It’s like a tough breakup with a bad bish who costing you too much money, in exchange for a solid 6-7 who rubs ya feet and manages ya money lol. One is better for you, the other makes you feel better having it. You choose
Sources: Texas WR Matthew Golden is visiting the #Cowboys on Thursday after meeting with the #Bucs today.
Golden ran a blazing 4.29 in the 40-yard dash, and people inside the Longhorns program rave about him — calling him a natural leader, consistent worker and a big-game performer.
One college scouting director said: “I think Golden’s one of those guys who didn’t fully realize how good he could be until it started clicking. Once he tasted success, he just kept working.”
