That's wonderful however could you please clarify:
How many jobs that used to exist no longer exist because of Net Zero?
How many jobs that would have been created in Britain have not been created because of Net Zero?
What portion of consumer and industrial energy prices do Net Zero taxes and related costs make up?
Had we not pursued Net Zero, would we be lifting sanctions on Russian energy exports as we're currently doing?
And finally, what impact has been made on global CO2 emissions as a result of our pursuit of Net Zero?
Beware the empathy exploit.
Empathy is good and right when thought through (deep), but can be deadly to civilization when simply stimulus-response (shallow).
For example, releasing a repeat violent offender may feel good at first (shallow empathy for the criminal), but it is wrong to do so when that person will go on to hurt or murder innocent victims, as there should be deep empathy for future victims.
What makes me terribly uncomfortable is that the argument is always about paying more tax and who should be doing it.
How about arguing for less tax. For everyone.
Governments are exceptionally good at wasting/stealing money. Biggest lie ever told is that tax is good, actually.
The answers to many modern problems are simple but politically incorrect.
So instead of solving anything, everybody pretends they don't know what's going on, and spend years misdiagnosing the issue, talking in circles, and wasting time.
South Africa won’t allow Starlink to be licensed, even though I was BORN THERE, simply because I am not Black!
We were offered many times the opportunity to bribe our way to a license by pretending that a Black guy runs Starlink SA, but I have refused to do so on principle.
Racism should not be rewarded no matter to which race it is applied.
Shame on the racist politicians in South Africa. They should be shown no respect whatsoever anywhere in the world and shunned for being unashamedly RACISTS!
@leylowAD @tomhfh Said like a true man who’s never been here, it’s mind blowingly irritating. We don’t live in a democracy, for starters. 95+% of tax dollars aren’t accounted for every year. Is that due to “Western interference” 😂😂 Actually come here, your mind would be changed rather promptly.
@tomhfh You keep equating survival with morality. But if “good” = what helps a group win, then conquest, exploitation, even elimination of rivals become justified when effective. You’ve described evolutionary success, not moral truth.
@tomhfh You’ve replaced morality with utility. “Flourishing” explains preference, not obligation. If the strong benefit from exploiting the weak, your system has no basis to call it evil, only disadvantageous to your preferred outcome.
@tomhfh That’s not morality, that’s adaptation. Evolution explains instinct instead of obligation. If something becomes advantageous, your view has no basis to call it evil, only inconvenient.
