“The music is not in the notes, but in the silence in between.” – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
So true! I teach my high school students that the notes are important, but the space in between them is more important. #UFMUE
My first grade students are learning about various cultures. It's so interesting, even for me, to learn about other types of instruments from other lands. #UFMUE
This week, I begin teaching my second graders about the various instruments and their respective families. Anyone have any helpful resources to teach this besides bringing in my own instruments and showcasing them? #UFMUE
While working on my social bookmarking assignment, I found this great channel with iconic notation for a lot of fun songs: https://t.co/SeF6wBhxmG #UFMUE
Teaching my 1st grade students a dance to "Los Machetes" this week for their Mexico section of the multicultural music unit. Can we use sombreros? 😂 #culture#UFMUE
Taking 2nd grade music to the computer lab to use Incredibox was a complete success! They were so engaged! They learned about different sounds, and how they can mix these different sounds and create something brand new, each time. #UFMUE
Taking my second grade classes into the computer lab next week to dive into Incredibox for their "Careers in Music" unit. They are so excited to become music producers. Thank you #UFMUE for showing me this program!!
@apondmusic I am in person 100%. We are definitely doing a lot of listening to music and moving to music. My third graders are even doing an easy music history unit this year.
What a challenge this year is...teaching general music to PreK through 3rd grade with no singing. Time to break out some music history, dancing, and percussion instruments. Let's go! #musiced#UFMUE
