In this installment of the @CHSAA_NYC Media Day Interviews from Nov. 6th at @MountToday in The Bronx, we spoke to @XaverianBB trio of head coach Clyde Chapman and seniors @BrandonMarg4 and Jayden Hall.

Last season, the Clippers were a tough and scrappy team on the court in the Brooklyn/Queens Diocesan division and weren’t afraid when it came to taking on the heavy hitters in their league. Despite only making it to the first round of the @CHSAA_NYC “AA” playoffs, it set the tone for this coming season.

Despite the loss of the high-scoring @PatrickEvans17 (SUNY Oneonta) to graduation, the Clippers have some great leadership in the aforementioned Hall and @BrandonMarg4, and other seniors such as Jordan King, Stan Dhondt and @AndrewWiz47. Other contributors on the team are underclassmen such as junior @showout.chris and sophomores @MikeyChiara and David Duncan.

This season, the boys from Bay Ridge will be playing in plenty of events, such as the Palm Beach Holiday Classic in Palm Beach, Florida in late December, the @GeeCharles24 Tip of the Hat Classic in late January in Mineola, Long Island, @TheStJames MLK Day Classic in mid-January in Springfield, Virginia & the NYC Invitational in The Bronx in early December.

Look out for the Clippers this season.

Today, we got to check out our fourth stop on our open gym tour, as we went down to the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn to check out @XaverianBB.

As one of the grittiest & most talented teams in the @chsaanyc_ Brooklyn/Queens Diocese, the Clippers are back & ready to compete. With seniors such as @BrandonMarg4, Stanley Dahomey, Jordan King & Jayden Hall and underclassmen such as junior @showout_chris & sophomore @MikeyChiara, they will definitely be a competitive crew on the court.

Now in his sixth season as head coach, Clyde Chapman, himself an alumnus of the school & program, has built a great culture with the program, just as his old coach & predecessor, Jack Alesi, did for so many years.

Look out for the action out on Shore Road this season.

2025 Wing Brandon Margolin started slow but has been great in getting to the rim and finishing through contact. He’s been the catalyst for a @XaverianBB team that was down 26-12. They now lead 45-41.
