@LaCatholicState So it is just about your feelings, then. Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. Speaking of honesty, what was your actual intent in tagging #atheism in your post? Was it to have an argument with one? Make us appear lesser in the eyes of others? No wrong answer. I like honesty too.
@LaCatholicState Well, clearly you can't demonstrate anyone is "required" to be as there are plenty of frauds amongst the religious (even yours). People don't lie or tell the truth because of a promise of reward or punishment. They do so because they are compelled to adhere their values or not.
@atheistnightmrs@Lilith_Atheist So you agree with the opinion of Karl Marx? Okay. No one really asked, but if you're trying to become included in some fascist database, it seems like the fast track.
@JayStrellson All it expresses is that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. What it doesn't say is unlimited arms of unlimited scope. The interpretation is the only thing of utility. Could mean everyone gets a sling shot. π€·ββοΈ
@JayStrellson Again, that is the interpretation that the right uses regularly. It's not being contested. If you have a different interpretation of the purpose of the 2nd amendment, then go ahead and share it. Contrarian is less a position than a personality.
@Yolitatennis No worries. I like tennis. I remember we followed each other years ago over atheism. Novak is doing very well as always. I hope you're well. And I hope we can have more reasonable discourse in my country again sometime soon.
@Yolitatennis There are conversations worth having, like which prison a person should go to, how to treat athletics, or even bathrooms. Those are all easily solvable issues that would require nothing more than rational discussion, but that's exactly what people are unwilling to do these days.
@Yolitatennis Whether it's a right to be referred to by preferred pronouns is debatable, but really just because that's not really a right for anyone. I couldn't sue someone for calling me a girl, nor would I really care. Taking offense does not create rights.
@Yolitatennis Ultimately, claiming authority from a preferred definition of a word is absurd. I think people should be able to live however they like as long as it doesn't harm others. "Having to see" is not harm. Someone's request to be referred to in any way they like is not harm.
@TheJesusAdventr@PeteAlonSoCrazy@Chsuk88@PhysicistTx It was one example of 3 that describe the same process. Your response was that you accept one (because you can literally watch it happening) and reject the other 2 and say the entire process isn't actually happening because it doesn't fit your narrative. I understand your pos'n.
Oh no! It has been declared by MAGA that Stephen King is hereby canceled for failing to cite a fact! Let's go ahead and apply that level of scrutiny to the president.
