Biggest pain was drilling all the holes and mounting the custom loop... Kits didn't exist back then.

It's literally not even something you notice. People die from accidentally being in N2 chambers. You don't even realize you're not getting oxygen. I've personally been in a nitrogen chamber and was able to last 94 seconds before the instructor had to mask me up. Personally, I just felt slightly warm and was having difficulty doing calculations. O2 sat was 48 at this point. Full consciousness comes right back after one breath on the oxygen mask. One standout in my group was able to last just under 5 minutes before needing to mask up. Again, this is in a pure nitrogen chamber, zero oxygen or other gasses.
