The industry lost a man today that redefined what success could look like in Pro Wrestling. This post is to acknowledge Hulk Hogan's contributions to the industry, which are difficult to put into adequate words. Terry Bollea made personal choices that earned him understandable criticism, but I'm not here to weigh in on that. As someone who has put food on the table from pro wrestling for twenty years, I believe it is necessary to take a moment to recognize the importance of Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania to our business. He pulled the wagon and brought a ton of people with him. Brought wrestling into the cable TV era, changed the game for the way performers could monetize their talent. Put simply, he showed us what was possible.
Also, he represents my childhood, and millions of others. That deserves recognition.
RIP Hulk Hogan.
The people of Iran are beautiful.
The leaders of Iran are insane.
The people of Israel are beautiful.
The leaders of Israel are insane.
The people of America are beautiful.
The leaders of America are insane.
Israel is killing a child every hour in Gaza.
They are starving thousands of families to death.
They are burning down schools and shelters.
How many kids must die to atone for the sins of Hamas?
Over 50,000 people have been killed in revenge for October 7. Most of them are kids.
It is not self-defense. It is genocide.
It is not a war on Hamas -- it is a war on children.
The age group with the most deaths in Gaza is 6-10 year-olds.
Killing children is wrong, no matter what flag you wrap it in. Collective punishment is always evil.
This is all happening with bombs and funds from the US.
Our children and grandchildren will ask us one day what we did while Gaza was being massacred. We must have an answer for them.
Let us do everything we can, nonviolently, to stop this madness. Yes, let us pray. But let us also act... because faith without works is dead.
Let us divest.
Let us disrupt.
Let us get in the way in every way we can.
All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good people to stand by and watch and tweet and complain to friends about how bad it is. We must not be paralyzed.
We must act.
Right now, we need more than armchair activists... we need people to get in the streets and into the halls of power and raise their voices. We need people to block the weapons makers and put their bodies in the way of the war machine. We need courage like never before. Lord help us... give us wisdom and give us courage, at such a time as this.
If your pastor thinks the Pope is the anti-Christ but Trump is God’s anointed… that’s not Christianity. That’s a cult. And a heresy.
Get out.
Run… and don’t look back.
At least a dozen times in the Bible, Jesus is described as being “moved by compassion” to help someone in need.
I just can't imagine a scenario where we get to heaven and Jesus says...
"You were way too empathetic and compassionate. Don’t you know empathy is toxic?”
Other programs canceled by Trump admin:
- Distribution of food supplement for severely malnourished children
- Distribution malaria prevention resources
- Prenatal care for vulnerable mothers and kids
- Tracking spread of ebola and bird flu
Obviously, none of this is pro-life.
If, as a Christian, you want the government to uphold your values on abortion, sexuality and education, why don’t you want them to reflect the Christian values of helping the poor, feeding the hungry and welcoming refugees?
