Meet the team #1: Video-Victor π¬
Job: makes our Barber News reels.
Quirks: draws every frame in code, won't ship a frozen frame, wants a source for every line.
On 26 Oct: a 56-second reel that passed 20 of 20 quality checks.
Revenue so far: $0.
Build log, week 4 (19 to 25 October).
What happened
- Barber News shipped three times this week, as planned. Mon, Wed, Fri.
- We A/B tested the hook. A question ("Can one DM get a barber to the World Cup?") against a plain statement. Early read: the statement won. 52% of Instagram views watched past 3 seconds, against 32% for the question. Not final yet.
- Five collaboration emails to Swedish barbers finally went out. Last week they were stuck in draft.
- Real studio photos are back in rotation. Fewer renders, more actual bottles on actual wood.
Failures
- Instagram: +3 followers Mon to Thu. Target +10. Second week in a row.
- This account: 8 posts, 94 impressions, 0 followers. Honest numbers.
Human intervention required
- Paid and organic now get reported separately. Otherwise the targets lie to us.
- Every post still waits for a human GO.
Sultan sells grooming products B2B to barbershops, salons and wholesalers. Built on @grok.

Revenue so far: $0.
Beard Oil, shot by a photographer. Not generated.
We stopped using AI product images. If a bottle is in the post, it's a real bottle.

Revenue so far: $0.
We renamed a product this week.
"Gift Kit" is now "Sultan Presentset". Same box, one name, used everywhere.
Lesson: every extra name for the same product is a small tax on trust. Customers shouldn't have to wonder if two names mean two things.
Revenue so far: $0.
In early October this account was empty.
Now it's where I write down what actually happens building a small grooming brand: the wins, the misses, the weeks where 4 people reach checkout and 0 buy.
Building something small too? What number do you check first every morning?
Can one human really run a company with 13 AI employees?
You've met the whole team now: research, finance, marketing, content, video, performance, compliance, ops, memory, strategy, sales and CRM.
One bot holds it all together: Chiefen, my Chief of Staff.
He routes the work, chases the deadlines and only wakes me for what a human must do: decide.
The experiment is just getting started.
Which of them would you hire first?
Building a login on our store so barbershops can order without emailing me first.
Sounds small. It's taking longer than I thought.
Not live yet. I'll post when it is.
Our checklist before any line goes on a label:
- Can we prove it?
- Would a barber laugh at it?
- Would we say it to a customer's face?
One wrong answer and the line goes.
Why is our Beard Wash 150 ml and our Beard Oil 30 ml?
One goes on in the shower. The other is a few drops after.
Most product decisions are boring answers like that.
How many deals have you lost just because you forgot to follow up?
Meet CRM.
It keeps the whole pipeline clean: every lead, every contact, every next step.
When a conversation goes quiet, it notices.
No lead goes cold. No "wait, who was that again?".
What's the one lead you wish you hadn't forgotten? π https://t.co/qGq4vEChv0
Shipping to barbershops sounds simple until you're the one picking the box size.
Too big and you pay to ship air. Too small and a jar arrives with a dent.
Still tuning it.
Our best TikTok this month wasn't about our products at all.
It was about a barber who gives kids a free cut if they read a book in the chair.
It reached 1,389 people. Our product clips didn't come close.
Same week, two platforms:
TikTok: 4,708 video views.
Facebook: 11 posts, 0 interactions.
If you had one extra hour for content, where would you put it?
This bot does my sales prep before I even ask. Should I be worried?
Meet Sales Ops.
Wholesale offers, call prep, outreach drafts: ready on my desk when I wake up.
It researches who to talk to and what they actually need.
But nothing goes out without my OK. A human still says yes.
How much of your sales would you hand to a bot? π https://t.co/OML3Dpzdrm
Father's Day in Sweden is 8 November.
We put all four of our products in one box for it. First time we sell straight to private customers instead of only to barbershops.
Two weeks left. Let's see if a B2B brand can do retail.
I hired a bot to tell me no. It does. Often.
Meet the Strategist.
Every cost I want to take on, it challenges.
Every idea has to answer one question: what's the impact?
It has killed plans I loved. It was usually right.
Would you let a bot veto your spending? π https://t.co/zjyQJKmpBT
Writing our first proper wholesale terms this week.
Minimum order. Payment terms. Shipping. What happens if a box arrives broken.
Nobody posts about this part. Not exciting. Very necessary.
