The cast depositions show people were angry with Justin Baldoni and believed he was to blame for their being criticized online because he was promoting the film’s message about DV and they were not. They blame him and think he was a con artist for that.

Meanwhile, Blake Lively who had the power and influence to take over a film, get her own edit, successfully insist they use her edit even after Justin’s tested better, and had Baldoni excluded and ostracized… could have easily used her power and influence to insist on a change in the message in the film’s marketing. Her husband Ryan Reynolds owns Maximum Effort, the marketing agency, and Sony was quite clearly giving her everything she wanted.

Trying to make it Baldoni’s fault after he was cut out is ridiculous. And it wasn’t just the way it was marketed. It was Lively’s behavior and the inappropriate way she joked in response to serious questions about DV victims in interviews. No one else is to blame for that.
