BOWIE ON DINAH! FIFTY YEARS AGO TODAY
“'Cos you can never really tell when somebody wants something you want too...”
Fifty years ago today (3rd March 1976), CBS in America broadcast Bowie's appearance on Dinah Shore’s chat show: Dinah!
Recorded the previous month while Bowie was in LA, he performed Stay and Five Years with the then current tour band...
David Bowie • Vocals
Carlos Alomar • Guitar
Dennis Davis • Drums
Tony Kaye • Keyboards
George Murray • Bass
Stacey Heydon • Guitar
Bowie sat and chatted with the other guests who included: Nancy Walker, Henry Winkler, Natalie Cole and Candy Clark.
Also present was Dwain Vaughns who demonstrated a few karate moves on Bowie. Neither of the men were hurt during the making of the show.
You can find the full broadcast on YouTube, including both songs, though sadly not in the kind of quality that the Nacho's Videos Five Years teaser we’ve used here boasts.

Viděno punkem.
Prince.
Dokument Sláva zabíjí. ČtArt.
Ke shlédnutí pouze do 11.2.2026.
A během fenomenálních show i odtančil.
Prince svůj vlastní sound a styl a vliv vytvořil.
A i když ho naše rádia ignorovala, tuzemský kasovní trhák z Petřína Bílé Lucie Láska je láska ehm bolestně upomíná song Alphabet Street made in Prince.
Zkuste a hledejte.
I s mou obcesí pro Brutal Assault je Prince hudební zázrak. A vizuální hostina.
Vítejte.

★ ALBUM IS TEN YEARS OLD
“We were born upside-down...”
Ten years ago today on 8th January 2016, David Bowie released his 28th studio album ★ (Blackstar) on his 69th birthday.
Today would have been his 79th birthday.
Here follows the text from the post we made back then, which was accompanied by another Jimmy King image from the same session as the one we’ve used today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID BOWIE AND ★
“That’s the message that I sent...”
Why is this man so happy? Is it because it‘s his 69th birthday or that he has released his 28th studio album today and it’s a corker?
Who knows, but we’re sure you’ll want to join us in congratulating him on both.
Many happy returns of the day to David Bowie and ★
(Fashion fans may like to note that our man is wearing Thom Browne)
