@australia_roads @CoxyJindas @JamesWeidmann @QldPolice I think you have it the wrong way around. Banning of bikes from footpaths, with exceptions, will lead to a) more deaths or b) less cycling. Neither is acceptable. The way to do it is to allow bikes on footpaths, with exceptions where separate infra is provided (what we have now)

I give up. This success was just erased by council. In the words of the Transport Coordinator the wombat crossing has been replaced by “a safer at grade zebra crossing and red threshold treatment to delineate the crossing”. How is that safer exactly??

I'll take this as a success. At my local school, negotiated council down from two parallel drop-off/pick-up lanes to a single lane with a wombat crossing to access parking.
