.@niinisto piti tänään viimeisen uudenvuoden puheensa tasavallan presidenttinä.

Se oli mielestäni erinomainen ja jatkoi hänen arvopohjaisten uudenvuodenpuheiden sarjaa.

Puhe oli analyyttinen. Siinä korostui maailmanpolitiikan jännitteet, ilmastonmuutos, turvallisuuspolitiikka, Venäjä, Nato ja talous.

Puheesta voisi nostaa esille montakin kohtaa, mutta mielestäni kaksi viestiä nousevat ylitse muiden.

Ensimmäinen on rauhanviesti:

"Myös rauhasta pitää puhua. Rauhan asian ajaminen ei ole heikkoutta, toisen posken kääntämistä. Rauha on aina voitto. Voitto elämälle ja normaalille kehitykselle. Se on myös sen tosiasian tunnustamista, että kestävät ratkaisut eivät koskaan verso väkivalloin. Ja aikamme huutaa kestäviä ratkaisuja kovemmin kuin koskaan."

Toinen on yhteistyönviesti:

"Nyt esitän yhteistä uudenvuodenlupausta: että kohtaamme toinen toisemme reilusti, toista ymmärtäen, ihmisyyttä kunnioittaen ja perinteistä yhteyttämme ja luottamustamme vaalien."

Kumpikin viesti on tärkeä rauhattomuuden ja epäjärjestyksen aikakautena. Ne luovat toivoa ja muistuttavat kansakunnan yhtenäisyyden merkityksestä.

Minulla on ollut ilo ja kunnia työskennellä Sauli Niinistön kanssa vuosien varrella.

Tasavallan presidentti Sauli Niinistö on ollut meille suomalaisille hyvä presidentti.

Hän jää historiaan presidenttinä, joka vei meidät Natoon.

Ja kuten Presisentti Niinistö totesi Naton liittymisseremoniassa 4.4.2023:

"Sotilaallisen liittoutumattomuuden aikakausi historiassamme on päättynyt. Uusi aikakausi alkaa”.
