@MostlyEagles I mean did you read the Sirianni piece? It wasn't exactly glowing. The vibe was more so "this guy is an asshole but players like it and he maybe has some part in them winning."
@That_Hurts@frshcln In this scheme you can get by with replacement-level safety play, especially if you have top-end talent at other spots in the secondary and at linebacker. Getting Riq Woolen to replace Adoree was key to that.
Rookie tight ends always have a big learning curve when transitioning to the NFL. I wouldn’t read too much into Eli Stowers lack of flashy plays so far during OTAs and minicamp.
@thomasrp93 Egh that's a little simplistic man. I can see the offense improving, but that'll be due to the scheme change rather than the loss of A.J. Brown.
@DianteLeeFB@evankoch Honestly (aside from whatever happened on a personal level) this seems like the main difference between Jalen and A.J.'s philosophies. Jalen is win no matter what. A.J. wants to win but also wants to dominate at his position. Both valid but speaks to how they can be at odds.
Former Eagles WR A.J. Brown was reportedly frustrated with his role in Philadelphia.
Yet since Brown was traded to the Eagles in 2022, here’s where he ranked in each major receiving statistical category:
Targets: 521 (7th)
Receptions: 339 (11th)
Receiving Yards: 5,034 (5th)
Receiving Touchdowns: 32 (7th)
Since 2022, only two players ranked above Brown in all four of those categories:
- Ja’Marr Chase, CIN
- Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET
That’s it…that’s the entire list! 🤯
In closing, I’m not sure that Brown’s role can truly be much bigger than what it was during his tenure in Philadelphia.
Let’s just say that the grass isn’t always greener.
The vets in 2023 talked about the exact same misery he’s describing here. I think that was at the heart of his IG post after Super Bowl 59.
If being a champion is not what drove you to become the player you are, it will not sustain you when you accomplish it.
I wrote about A.J. Brown's dominance at his peak with the Philadelphia Eagles and how he left the franchise better than he found it. https://t.co/JfeiZ0JxyQ
