This weekend saw the Capitals host 115 minority youth hockey players for the inaugural #CapsRisingStars Academy clinic at MedStar Capitals Iceplex.

The two-day camp focused on physical and mental strength as well as social discussions around hockey culture.

@wyshynski This season my black child was confronted in a locker room by a kid who said to him “I am the superior race…not you.” The same kid called my kid the n word weeks earlier. He was thankfully removed from the team. It’s rediculous that this stuff happens. 💔
