The wipe doesn't need to be perfect cinema. It's just the experience, and feeling that has to be. The variability and change per wipe is what makes it unique and interesting. That's a plus. It's just the formula is what has to stay the same. The formula of doing everything there is to do in rust is a fantastic hook, and then giving that satisfaction of actually doing that. Chefs kiss. But it's also showing a complete wipe that viewers can see everything is what matters too emersion wise. Even if you get raided/griefed hard that's angles to the story that the viewer can understand only if you actually complete the goal of the video, and follow the formula.
You can make the milestone videos manageable to do. Your editor can be taught more stuff to do to take the load off. There's also stuff in the solos journey videos that you don't have to include that can make it easier, and faster to put out.
Youtube is about putting out what the people want to see, and you know people want the milestone videos so you should do that. It'll pop your channel off by miles. Even if you delay your upload schedule by a bit to make up for the time it takes to make it'll make your channel have xx,xxx, xxx view average which negate the extra time it'll take to your videos out. All the other stuff you're uploading is only going to hurt your viewer potential you need to put out what other people want to see.
I've been trying to tell you this since 2023. 8 months later you put out the same video and boom 2.5x more views than the last one.

The views say the opposite of that. It shows you delivered on what most people want, and that's why they're so highly viewed. As most people want to watch that. That's why they're your best performing videos by miles. You don't need to reinvent the wheel with every vid or spice things up everytime. The views(people) have shown you what they want for rust content.
I think 40m views could be on the low end of average views for you per video. It's just you won't see that if you don't keep uploading what works. You need to maintain that or it'll be confusing for youtube on what to recommend because of the variation.
Right now we know solo 100% works in this, but I have a theory that it doesn't have to be solo. I think that if you replicate the same level of viewer involvement/immersion that playing solo gives could be replicated intro group videos (maybe duo vids at the start) the same result can be achieved. It's just harder story telling wise.
Doesn't need an over nerf but...
- Helmet should 2x more damage same as normal. Not less than chestplate.
- Craft cost should be more. Maybe stuff even more over wipe. (should be across all items.)
Helis themselves need to be rarer. Not necessarily the armor. Not the new most common resource.
Rust needs to follow in Runescape's footsteps. Make two versions of the game. Old recoil, and new recoil. OSRS is like what 10x more popular than the new shit. Would be huge marketing potential.
People often ask why thereโs still โgear fearโ in Rust when guns are cheaper and gunplay is easier.
In the old recoil system, mastering spray took time and practice. The skill gap between the top 5% and everyone else was large, so fights lasted longer and mistakes created opportunities.
This gave newer players more time to use the gear they worked for and made each battle feel more rewarding.
Now almost anyone can spray accurately. Fights are shorter, deaths happen quickly, and gear is lost in seconds.
God iโd do anything for a skill based recoil system. ๐
