I’m now tweeting @BreadthFirst, as in “breadth-first search.” It’s the TLDR summary of my analytical approach. (It also brings back memories of coding search algorithms in Lisp as a #compsci major.) https://t.co/hfUhOgNygM
@maleficia13 Also know that *neither* path is likely wrong! I finished, but know many who didn’t and went on to wonderful things. You’ll find fulfillment either way.
@maleficia13 If yes, then use that reason to rededicate and get it done so it doesn’t continue to hang over you. If you proceed, beware of holding yourself to too high of a standard. We are our own worst critics; at some point, the best dissertation is a complete one.
@lukemetzger@SimonMahan If I’m gonna tease a bottom line based on a highly uncertain point estimate of future savings, then it’s basic good form for me to also include any known, present-day costs in that calculation.
@lukemetzger@SimonMahan $7500 credit + $4800 in est. 6-yr gas savings. Good to see EV prices 📉 & 👍 on attempts to focus buyers on total cost of ownership, but this approach is a bit iffy, IMO—particularly since neither price includes the add’l $1640 in fees.
🚨OSD CAPE (https://t.co/4mtAmt9FRl) wants YOU in the civil service! Hiring expert analysts in #climate, #energy, and #cyber. You will have high impact advising senior leaders and working across DoD/govt in these critical areas. Info⬇️
@alanjenn So sorry this happened! But I hope you are able to soon feel like the decision opens up other fun possibilities for this fall, once the initial disappointment recedes.
@Caroline_Lee2@ElephantEating The Volt will force the ICE to run to burn off old gas if it has sat for too long. See “fuel maintenance mode” & “engine maintenance mode” in your manual for more info.
@ElephantEating Discovering steaming greatly improved my results. An instant pot or pressure cooker works fast and well, but not strictly needed. (Your thing is still weird, though!) https://t.co/ZyvMBnWarA
@parth_PIT Yeah, that’s the worst term yet (even worse than Xennial). For me the one that feels right is “Oregon Trail Generation” — though that’s centered on the US public school experience. https://t.co/NdsKprt4Hy
@hassankhan @energysmartohio Find a quant-oriented energy auditor who will do a blower door test, IR imaging to find leaks, and ideally instrument your elec panel to understand your loads w/better fidelity. Then you can eval and target issues most important to you.
@hassankhan On the this quest myself. Really important to understand the problem before implementing solutions, b/c you can spend a lot of $$ with little effect. Check out @energysmartohio for some good resources...
@ElephantEating Then, of course, ask the uninitiated where exactly a “Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary” falls in importance. Or whether a deputy secretary outranks an undersecretary.
@ElephantEating At least the ranks make ordinal sense. Come to DC for real title craziness. I’ve worked in 2 agencies where “directors” report to “deputy directors” (because the rank hierarchy is recursive).
