People seem to be catching up with what I said in 2022 - which is that the OBR process doesn't work and makes economic policy worse.

But the problem is deeper than that. There is a "Treasury view", shared by the Bank of England, that is Keynsian. It supports closer integration with the EU/Net Zero/high immigration and big Government.

Getting the Mini-Budget through this system was an achievement in itself. But of course these bureaucrats and their allies in the media contrived to undermine it.

The lesson is that a new, accountable system with new people needs to be put in place.
