Financial literacy needs to go hand in hand with financial inclusion with enhanced knowledge and awareness of financial behaviour vital to making sound decisions and utilising available financial services.

This thought underpins Housing Finance Bank’s addition of financial literacy programs to members of over 300 savings and credit cooperatives that are recipients of the Government of Uganda’s Parish Development Model initiative focused on supporting wealth creation and increasing household incomes.

Through these programs, recipients gain the skills and knowledge around proper financial management which builds their financial resilience and sustains Government efforts to move individuals from a subsistence economy to a monetary economy.
