I am my favourite self and I am probably liked by only 1% of the population of this planet for being myself. Well, if the math is right, there are 88million people loving me out there. π
What is the best suggestion I can give you at work?
Stop having relationship problems with someone you are not in a relationship with.
Everyone has the right to have an opinion, luckily not all opinions count π
This is not only a UK issue. Most of the management are people coming from the field with strong technical knowledge and they grow up in the organization to leadership positions with no formal training. This is one of the major causes of micromanagement without the complete understanding of what a manager should deliver, pushes most of the people to look down on the technical part of the business and start micromanaging to maintain contact with the area they are comfortable with.
Do you feel in a prison? Read this!
In all the prisons I lived in (jobs, relationships, circle of friends) I have always ensured to get the key before entering. The problem is never getting into a difficult situation, but having the skills and the strengths to get out.
Freedom is not living outside the prisons, but been able to leave when you want. Sometimes you have to spend time in prisons, because this is how this society has been designed. It could be your job, your marriage or anything else, you got the keys, just look for them.
When you achieve something and you feel like a god, measure your achievement with reality. Even if you have climbed the Everest, donβt forget the Sherpas have done it hundreds of times carrying your bags on their shoulders.
@joshsilentmode Yes, absolutely. We are wired to recognise stress and change our attitude to survive. Is part of the evolution process of all species. Universe 25 experiment has proven it.
Do you know this old story? Two boys who had a father who was an alcoholic. They grew into young men.
One son became an alcoholic. βWhat choice do I have?β he said. βMy father is an alcoholic.β
The other son became a lawyer. βWhat choice did i haveβ he said. βLook what at my father.β
We always have a choice, take ownership of your life, not the excuses from your past.
There are two kinds of people, the motivated and committed ones who decide to make a change in their lives and stop drinking, eating bad food, losing weight and getting control of their lives. Then there are the people that have always had control.
No matter what, there is always someone who makes the right decision the first time and someone that have to learn it the hard way. You decide who you want to be. Hard to learn but winners are born as such, the others are winners too, but they have to lose first.
Once you understand the power of your words, you won't just say anything.
Once you understand the power of your thoughts, you won't just think anything.
And once you understand the power of your presence, you won't just be anywhere.
Know your worth.

I have read that social media is creating idiots. I grew up in the 80s and it was plenty of idiots, the difference was that this knowledge was only shared with family or small circles. Social media only broadened the audience.
