Gutting update on Mischa: Her injuries from the #FaunTourFemmes crash are worse than expected. So no UCI Road Worlds for her, and it probably means her season is done. 💔

Oh my, a bitter pill to swallow, but Mischa has overcome worse and will be back strong! ✨

Mischa Bredewold fears end to season following crash in the Faun Tour

In the first stage of the Faun Tour, Mischa Bredewold was involved in a crash with two team-mates ten kilometres from the finish. Bredewold managed to finish the stage, but was taken to hospital afterwards for a check-up. There, she was diagnosed with a minor fracture in her pelvis, as well as a wound to her elbow. She underwent successful surgery.

“There were fears that I’d torn a tendon in my elbow, but fortunately it turned out during the operation that this wasn’t the case. I’m trying to take heart from that, because this is a huge disappointment. I fear, therefore, that this most likely means the end of my season, although I remain hopeful of a miraculously quick recovery. This setback is, of course, particularly bitter. Especially as I’d also been selected for the Road World Championships in Montréal, which I was really looking forward to,” said Bredewold.

Nienke delivered again and secured a strong 10th place 🙌

Sadly, she lost the Best Young Rider's jersey to Sidney Swierenga 👋

GC-wise she's now 7th, sitting 56 seconds behind new leader Niamh Fisher-Black

Mischa won't take the start of Stage 2 at the #FaunTourFemmes today. After yesterday's crash and finishing almost 11 minutes down, it makes zero sense to continue, especially with #Montreal2026 in mind. The only logical decision here. Heal up quickly, Mischa! 🫶
