The dog is the perfect portrait subject. He doesn't pose. He isn't aware of the camera.

@The_RE_LE Both my son nearly gave up because they kept demanding more and more medical evidence (they had to go private for some of it due to NHS waiting times). Couldn't have done it without JCCC helping us (involved through bereavement, but went beyond that).
@mattyt339 @The_RE_LE Took my youngest nearly a year. Recruitment, especially the medical board kept messing him about. Every time he sent evidence, they asked for sth else to the point he was ready to give up. He persevered and starts at AFCH in March
@The_RE_LE I can only speak for my sons: all three were born into the military community (OH ex service). My oldest (forever 20) had pretty much the same reasons as above, my middle son the same, but with tanks ๐. My youngest wants to make his big brother proud. They were all cadets, too
@ForcesNews@RoyalMarines@RoyalNavy@BritishArmy It took a Yr between my 2 sons applying and receiving even an assessment date. Countless of hoops to jump and red tape due to an incompetent recruitment company. If they hadn't been so determined they would have taken a better paid job in civvy str
@TelfordAlan @chinnychick Absolutely is. Between applying and starting date, it took a year for my 2 sons. Lots of red tape and "computer says no" due to C(r)apita. I'd imagine if a better paid job offer comes along, a lot of ppl take that, and I don't blame them.
@Ybutwhy@Socket1Sophie As above, the event has nothing to do with the PM. It would be simply impossible to have 10,000 participants around the Cenotaph during the wreath laying, so we line up around the corner near the big screens (the march past is the shortest part of the day lol)
@TheCaucKing @Socket1Sophie I was there. The columns always wait around the corner until after the service and wreath laying. No back turning and the only people booed were the RMP vets ๐
@fesshole I completely get that. I lost my oldest son suddenly when he was 20. A day before his funeral the Queen died and it felt bizarre how ppl who knew both my son and me seemed more upset abt a 96 Yr old privileged lady dying peacefully than a fit 20yr old, whole live ahead of him
