Thank you @AlexWanforATL, great questions! ❓who’s handling comms ❓why 10 hours of silence ❓DMW website still has issues and is showing outdated information ❓
This ruling on LGBTQ+ rights by the MAGA-right activist wing of the Supreme Court is a giant step backward for human rights and equal protection in America.
We will continue to fight to ensure that all Americans—including LGBTQ+ Americans—have equal protection under the law.
“And for that to be true, it must be true in the public market. For the “promise of freedom” is an empty one if the Government is powerless to assure that a dollar in the hands of one person will purchase the same thing as a dollar in the hands of another.”
Not at all surprising but so very disappointing to watch an actual activist Supreme Court walk us back in history in real time.
Couldn’t have said it any better myself, directly from the dissent in 303 CREATIVE LLC v. ELENIS:
“The unattractive lesson of the majority opinion is this: What’s mine is mine, and what’s yours is yours. The lesson of the history of public accommodations laws is altogether different. It is that in a free and democratic society, there can be no social castes.”
@MARTAtransit@atlcouncil Your response to this very reasonable request says all we need to know about the appropriateness of an audit. Who ok’ed this press release, seriously?
📰 "Atlanta residents took a leap of faith when they agreed to impose a tax on themselves in exchange for more transit inside the city... MARTA needs to repay that faith..." - @AmirForATL

@SenatorCollins is literally holding hostage my right to marry who I love because she disagrees with totally unrelated legislation. Make no mistake, she NEEDS to go ✌🏼 https://t.co/LthsOYkb4d
Years from now, when this moment has passed, our children and our grandchildren will look in our eyes and ask us: ‘Where were you when the stakes were so high?’
And we will tell them, not just how we felt—we will tell them what we did. #DemConvention
3104 Georgians have died and I and my family are amongst the 106k who have tested positive for COVID-19. Meanwhile, I have been sued by @GovKemp for a mask mandate. A better use of tax payer money would be to expand testing and contact tracing. #ATLStrong
This moment absolutely won me over @ewarren. Thanks for always asking the tough questions and fighting for your ideas no matter how *extreme* others sought to frame you as https://t.co/ywquB4zqds #ThankYouElizabeth
