Had a great time hosting @MarshaBlackburn and @SenBrentTaylor today at MACROHARD.
We showed them how @xai is keeping utility costs down for the community while building the world's largest AI supercomputer.
We appreciate their support.
Almost 3,000 people are locally employed at xAI in Memphis.
These people make Grok possible. Here’s an inside look that xAI provided during their all-hands meeting:
Yesterday our team volunteered at the Mid-South Food Bank.
We helped assemble 7,000 Christmas baskets for those in need. We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve the community.
THANK YOU @StJude for hosting the xAI team and for the inspiring hospital tour. You all are warriors fighting to save and cure the most vulnerable.
We are incredibly proud to partner with you now and for years to come.
Incredible community turnout in support of @xAIMemphis@xai@grok at the Air Pollution Control Board hearing. Probably 5-6 to 1 over opponents. The board rightly dismissed the appeal of the “environmental justice” attorneys. Case closed. 6-1 vote.
Pastor Watkins is one of the kindest humans I have ever met in my life.
Again, the @xAIMemphis team will continue to support schools, churches, clean up efforts and various other projects as long as we are operating here (a very long time). We will maintain our integrity, follow the rule of law and ensure we are positive members of this community we call home.
Super thankful for the bada$$ teams that show up to keep Grok operational each and everyday. These select few hardcore engineers and technicians that are here today (Thanksgiving) are a major part of the reason @xai is successful.
Day in and day out, these individuals show why they are the most hardcore team in existence! Proud to be a small part of the team gaining a deeper understanding of the universe every second of everyday! @elonmusk@grok@xAIMemphis
Today on site we have over 2000 workers building the world’s most powerful computer. Thank you to the amazing, hard working men and women of Memphis for all you do!
Something good is happening in Memphis!
An historic night at the school board meeting with @xai @BrentM_SpaceX
@MemphisChamber -thanks @elonmusk - our students are grateful
xAI continues to lead the way with cutting-edge technology. We have commenced construction on the world’s large ceramic membrane bioreactor (MBR) to sustainably supply 13 million gallons per day of cooling water to our Colossus Supercomputer and neighboring industrial plants in Memphis, Tennessee. The Colossus Water Recycling Plant will use direct-piped effluent from the nearby Memphis’ T.E. Maxson municipal wastewater treatment plant to produce high-quality cooling tower makeup water and allow the Colossus Supercomputer to operate with zero impact on area potable water supplies – and even supply high-demand industrial neighbors at the same time.
xAI is committed to cleaning the areas around schools and homes in Memphis. We work continuously with city and county officials to remove waste and improve the community. Today, our team was working hard to clean up the roadways. On average our crews remove 8-10 discarded mattresses, 15-20 rubber tires and 1500 lbs of waste per day.
Our neighbor Hyosung (HICO) announced their expansion project intended to increase manufacturing output for transformers and transmission equipment here in Memphis, Tennessee. It’s awesome to see companies build in America with Americans to propel our nation forward!
After all, how are we @xai going to get to a Terawatt without the infrastructure to handle that power. 😎
S/O to @GigiZhang461790 (she is a celebrity in the industry) and their CEO @JasonENeal412 for the invite provided to myself and our HSE Manager Bri. Always amazes me what companies are capable of manufacturing locally.
