McCormick Seeds follow up to last years "Does It Pay" fungicide trial... "Show Me $" trial in 2024.
Great example of how growers can use today's technology to map treatment areas vs non treated areas, overlay the as applied map with the yield map for data analysis!!
Marvis Neo+ Kendo Insecticide applied July 27th, which for this field was around brown silk.
The area around the $ had some flooding earlier in season which may have impacted fungicide response..
Feb 26th Seed Treatment plant date update. Compared plants from Feb 26th and April plant date. Feb plant date has about 95-100k stand... April has around 140-150k stand. You can see how the lower stand induced branching. Feb plant date has 165 pods and the April plant date has 82 pods. Seed size can make 30 bu/ac swings, so will let weigh wagon do its thing.
Key learning is the seed treatment package of today can handle a lot of early season stress. Little to no SDS,BSR or phytophthora in either planting date.
A few weeks out yet for yield results. Stay tuned.

2023 Key Agron Lesson #2:SCN
IA soil testing revealed 83% of fields w/$98+/ac loss potential
NE IA side by sides showed Peking reduced SCN egg count by 72% compared to PI88788
Dr Tylka (ISU) 2023 work showed up to 15 bu yield adv w/Peking varieties & 10-17k lower egg counts!
NH3 streaking once again common this spring. Research from last yr shows this DOES cost yield. Early available N & sulfur (planter applied or weed/feed) typically eliminates this. Elemental sulfur does not!! In this case pretty corn does have an ROI $$... results from last year.
“Superscooper” plane flies low, skimming a large volume of water from Skilak Lake in Alaska that it will use to help fight the nearby Swan Lake Fire in the Skilak Wildlife Recreation Area. https://t.co/xINLpoGpKM
