All 3 cllrs in their local district council ward are Lib Dem, as is the local MP. In fact Piddington is currently represented by Lib Dems at all the main levels above the (non- party political) parish council. 
The local Lib Dem cllrs voted for their area to become a ‘Council of Sanctuary’ (their motion also called for repeal of the Illegal Migration Act & Nationality and Borders Act, and stated that asylum seekers should be housed “as our neighbours.”

Yesterday, 140 people arrived in Portsmouth, having simply sailed in from Baie Le Seine (near Cherbourg)
That beach is 170 miles from Calais. Along a route that takes in Bayeux, home of the embroidery. Which documents the bloody and cruel Conquest of Britain by the Normans.
And Gold, Juno, Sword Omaha and Utah beaches - The sites of the WW11 landings by Britain and its allies. Hundreds of thousands of whom died there defending us from invasion via the Normandy coast.
But yesterday a rubber boat-full of undocumented uninvited individuals, were received, and swiftly and safely delivered, by the RNLI, into the home town of our Royal Navy and Marines. Unchallenged.
