Interesting fact: A high school football game has 48 minutes on the clock.
But a study found the average play lasts just 5.6 seconds. At 130 plays, that’s roughly 12 minutes of actual action between BOTH teams.
Months in the weight room. Summer heat. Film. Practice. All for opportunities measured in literal seconds.
And you don’t know which 5.6 seconds will decide the game.
That backside block you took off? The pursuit you cut short because somebody else would get him?
That might’ve been it.
First football edition of the year of my favorite exercise: different play by play calls of the biggest play of a game, in order. Here’s Kenneth Walker’s 60 yard TD.

Consistently landed the CB for strikes to work ahead. The pitch had sweeping action and tight spin.
Mason is also a great shortstop and a true competitor on the mound.

High upside 6-foot-4, 187-pound two-way athlete to keep an eye on.
Sends a two-strike offering into CF for a 2 RBI 1B, here.
Also ran the FB up to 87 on the mound, flashing feel to spin a 71-73 mph CB.
