Building Tessella app (for Writers) in public.
Process Analyst obsessed with frameworks & efficiency. Helping writers turn fragment chaos into finished pieces.
(1/3) As a Product Owner, I'm obsessed with systems. Not just at work, but for my own 'side projects'.
They're my test lab for building, optimising, and learning. π§ͺ
Is posting "Day X of building in public" a complete bluff?
I bet nobody is actually counting the same thing.
I'm curious - are those consecutive building days without skipping? What do you do if you need to skip a day?
Is it the number of days actually building or the number of days since the first day you started building?
Do you stop counting at 100?

@jonathanbrnd The start has never been easier, so it's got to be sticking to it once the novelty of the idea has worn off and you need to find new ways of promoting the same thing.
I'm not gonna lie...
I've put my B2C app on hold that I'd started building because I've been pursuing a couple of B2B opportunities lately - one for theatres (ticket sales) and one for tradesmen looking for quality leads.
I kinda feel like I need permission to switch focus π
How often do you switch projects and what rules do you have to determine whether it's wise or a distraction?
@OrionSeven As a "technical enough to be dangerous" Product Owner who can't code, how should I be approaching building with AI?
I can only abdicate, but it doesn't seem sensible in recent months to pour the months and years of effort to learn how to code from scratch. Would you disagree?
@llm_san I'm keen to hear of your learnings as a builder in that sector if you're able to share as you go. I'd guess there's a lot needed around legal/security/redundancy etc. compared to other software you could be working on.
I hope it goes well!

When the quality of the waiting list is this good, it bodes well for the quality of the app.
Fellow indies need to check out Luke's launch even just to see the quality of the waiting list page! π
Seriously, go click around on the waiting list page and get some inspiration.
Well done, sir!
The waitlist is live.
This is the project I teased this morning.
Every dev uses this feature daily and now I am building a smarter way to do it.
Still sick but pushed through all day to get this ready.
Link is in the first comment.
@iamlukethedev "The retainer always shows up later" - very decent advice. It saves some complexity now and by then they're already committed to you, retainer or not, and the retainer will feel cheaper or at least give them more assurance.
