@_jokeocracy@expson@UltraRightSide@ZachLowy I know. I think penalties are the best way we have. But the debate you've replied in is talking about scrapping penalties in favour of golden goal. It's not comparable to the golden goal of the 90s and 00s and you wouldn't necessarily get the same negative football with it.
@_jokeocracy@expson@UltraRightSide@ZachLowy But thats only an issue when you still have penalties and teams knew they only had to survive the 30 minutes. If golden goal replaces penalties then teams would have to attack to end the game. Some games would then go on forever though.
@glennswfc@mattyclark10@EPLBible If Gakpo hadn't started to change direction before the tackle was made, why was the defender lunging to the side of Gakpo? Do you think he was trying to tackle fresh air?
@SamAFC27@_thfcWill@Sidrat501@thebottomcorna Doesn't that prove the point even more?
"There's only uproar because it's little old Arsenal and everyone is mean and picks on us"
Well, no. Clearly not. It's brushed over and forgotten when it's them.
@Baz2486_ @JamesPearceLFC Konate and Macalister get shoved just as hard so if you believe Donarumma is fouled, it should actually be a penalty to Liverpool then
@Qwerty90265980 @Ben_Islington@johnmerro1 Referee didn't give the penalty for the handball until var intervened so I guess he got that decision wrong too
@STANTHEMANNIS @MalarJames@MichaelA28LFC@Gerald_yea@AnfieldEdition Double jeopardy rule. It's claimed giving the penalty is restoring the goal scoring opportunity (as it usually leads to a goal). Giving a red for a 'non-red' tackle in the box means the defending team get punished twice (penalty/goal and a man down)
@AdamSmitz33@FootballJOE The biggest injustice was Suarez getting a red when an offside should've been given against Stephen Appiah just before it happened
@superseb5 @SeptSivs @eastbaydawg @aeonstorn3 @bluebirdchapo@FootballJOE He could've done plenty more. Like, show up at least once in the first 120 minutes
@yoneysunnyinit7@ASpaghetti23@markgoldbridge Haaland finished that game and also played half of a Norway friendly four days later before starting inthe next league game. Roy Keane was actually banned for longer than Haaland was injured
