Sen. Tom Cotton: "Just today for instance The New York Times called the [Pilgrims'] story a myth and a caricature. In the Food Section, no less. Maybe the politically correct editors of the debunked 1619 Project are now responsible for pumpkin pie recipes at the Times as well."
Quick thread, but please indulge me. In Aug 2021, my book “Across the River,” about a New Orleans high school football program in a city besieged by gun violence, published. Big @Todayshow piece. Smokehouse Pictures got film rights. @nypost & @latimes named it a best book of '21.

My father, Peter Schjeldahl, passed away today peacefully of lung cancer. He will be buried privately. In March there will be a memorial service honoring his life and work. My mother and I are grateful for all the messages and will be in touch when we can.
1/3 Beautiful obit by @mgsledge in @NOLAnews abt Billy Sothern, dead at 45. There is so much trauma in the work Billy did unflinchingly every day for more than 20 years, representing death row defendants in the Deep South. He was a legend in New Orleans. https://t.co/FUZ1bz29xL
