New Editor Commentary: Does Ohio House Speaker Matt Huffman hate public schools? I'm genuinely asking. He very well might not hate public schools. But as an observer, it really comes off like Matt Huffman hates public schools.

I’m at a cancer treatment center getting my 27th dose of radiation. My doctor recommends 35. @UHC refuses to pay for more than 28. I’ve fought them for weeks to get full treatment approved. This is my Hail Mary to hopefully get them to reconsider.
The out of touch billionaire running the incoming Trump Administration announced last night that he enthusiastically supports the neo-Nazi party in Germany.
WTF.
NONE OF THIS IS OK, EVERYONE.
NONE OF THIS IS NORMAL.
And just like that, Republican Unelected Co-President Elon Musk has killed the bill to keep the government from shutting down on Friday. All he had to do was make a few social media posts.
Trump said he’d empower working people, all he’s done is empower the ultra wealthy.
@ohiogop@ChairmanAlex I gotta ask - do you guys laugh as hard writing the “lead Ohio forward” stuff as we laugh reading it?
I mean, we laugh pretty hard.
@FITFUNFREE@AaronParnas Any paradigm shift we attempt will be bought and co-opted by the wealth class.
Taking about it is like talking about unicorns. They'd be lovely to have around, but they just ain't real.
@FITFUNFREE@AaronParnas You are absolutely right.
It's a quandary. The system will never change on its own, but changing it means knowingly doing wrong. How much wrong can we tolerate to get the specific ends we must have?
I have no idea.
@FITFUNFREE@AaronParnas Talking about the necessity of a thing that can never happen is futile. We need to talk about what can happen, and how. I'd rather direct action be less violent, but fixing this through the means we have available is legislative masturbation, and everyone in power knows it.
@FITFUNFREE@AaronParnas This is all good stuff ... but none of it will ever happen using conventional or political means. Do you see us ever amassing the power necessary to move our political system against the wealth class?
Never going to happen.
@FITFUNFREE@AaronParnas I wonder if you stay on the high ground if your insurance company sent you home to die when they had the ability, but not the will, to save you.
Happens to hundreds every day. That's why there's little outrage over this crime. Murdering a murderer is still murder, but only just.
@FITFUNFREE@AaronParnas It's called utilitarian calculus. What is the greatest good for the most people?
Again, I don't agree with the crime. But I do understand that conditions exist in which this can happen, and ignoring those conditions to clutch pearls over the outcome is a bit ... too simple.
@FITFUNFREE@AaronParnas Last thing:
"there isn't a person alive having dealt w an insurance company (of any kind) that's not been frustrated beyond understanding"
What about the thousands upon thousands of people the insurance companies killed? Can't really ask about their frustrations now, can we?
@FITFUNFREE@AaronParnas Why not?
I'm not asking to be a smart ass. Really think about it. That CEO kills hundreds of people every week, maybe every day. Killing him is wrong, but the math is the math.
I don't condone. But I don't condemn. He was wrong, but he probably saved lives.
