On Wednesday, Whitesands lifeguards administered first aid to a fisherman who had fallen 10ft onto the rocks and into the water. A paddleboard was used by the public to help him out of the water, where lifeguards stabilised the casualty while waiting for the air ambulance.

It's not just our lifeboat crews who are being recognised this week. RNLI lifeguard supervisor Sam Bailey, senior lifeguard Lowri Davies & RNLI lifeguard Macsen Mather are to receive the Alison Saunders award for their bravery & skill after saving the lives of a man & his son.
