@king_saint8 @BroadStHockey The contract, no he isn't. He had a legit chance to be a top 10 #1 center in the NHL. He shouldn't be getting paid that much, it's a maneuver to try to make the Ducks not match. If they add him, the picks are at worst early 20's. He is absolutely worth the picks.

@MoreyBall76 @Anth_Chatburn I agree with that. Jet feels like a high floor low ceiling pick. Little doubt he will at worst be a bottom 6 center. But with a top 15 pick, you should drafting to guys who project top half of the roster.

@charlieo_conn RE: your talk of Briere setting Risto price & holding. Do you think his being a very new GM plays a factor? Makes sense to establish a rep as a firm negotiator in trades, not to cave. At times it might be better to let a UFA walk than let other GM's know that DB will blink first.

@charlieo_conn 9 seasons and he's made the playoffs twice. VAN showed they had no desire to extend his contract. Add in the optics of hiring yet another past Flyer who liked to punch people.

Hiring him would destroy any positive feelings I got back for the organization since Briere took over.

Having too many skilled d-men is NOT a problem. If York, Drys, Emil, and Zeev all hit, flipping one into a fwd would not be a problem.

@charlieo_conn Timeline again worries me. Team won't commit to full rebuild. Doesn't have to be stripped to the floorboards, but we wasted prime 28/93/14 yrs by being a borderline playoff team. Looks to be the same again. To quote Mike Ehrmantraut, "No more half-measures, Walter."
