Meet Lucas Byrd and Ellie Holzman. Both were Division I athletes at the University of Illinois. Lucas became the 2025 NCAA wrestling national champion at 133 pounds and is now an assistant wrestling coach at Penn. Ellie is a former Illinois volleyball player, two-time Gatorade State Player of the Year, and now a nurse.

Lucas is 5'6". Ellie is 6'2". 😭

Well, to be honest with you........less than a 1/3 of this team are guys from Iowa State. Campbell has some Franklin left-overs, and a TON of portal additions. As we all know, he was hired LATE in the process, and had to bust his rear-end to fill a team for the coming season. He then had to recruit for this years class, and is currently sitting at #20, according to Rivals. Not too bad! Finally, IMHO, Penn State was definitely ranked much too high, and, those 3 cupcake non-league games proved as much. (Looks like losing their best WR, Koby Howard, didn't help much either.)

@rickjeff78 Gotta give Campbell 2-3 years here. You know, very well, Penn State was wiped out when Franklin left, and Campbell didn't start putting his team together until well after New Years. Franklin went 7-6 his first 2 years at PSU. Get back to me in 2 years.

This is so stupid! Campbell came to PSU with a football roster almost completely wiped out! Not his fault! He brought what he could from Iowa State, kept some Penn State holdovers, and did what he could with the portal to MAKE a team! And, the NIL situation was brutal! Give this guy a damn chance! In another year, or two, lets see what Campbell has done.
