On May 4th, #GDToday salon "An Encounter with #MarcoPolo" was held at the Guangzhou Opera House, in company with the restaging of the original opera Marco Polo. Macro Polo-themed oil paintings exhibited during the salon show a cherished friendship between painter Sandro Trotti and the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA).
International guests from diverse cultural backgrounds shared their thoughts after viewing the paintings. Harley Seyedin, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China, told GD Today, "It's a beautiful painting and certainly the artist Sandro is very talented. I'm happy to see that he's mixed and mashed the Chinese culture together with Italian culture and rendered his point of view, which is quite fantastic."
