@apkarthistory M.O.N artist Jacob Lawrence was influenced by Mexican Muralism of 1920s-1940s.Slave Ship artist J.M.W Turner was inspired to paint this after reading “The History and Abolition of the Slave Trade”
@apkarthistory The Migration of the Negros and The Slaveship can both be classified under the Identity T.C. Both show black people being oppressed in one way or another. Also, you can see the way they are treated to other people.
@apkarthistory A contrast is that each painting shows a different era of discrimination. Also The Migration of the Negros shows both black and white figures.
@apkarthistory Both of the figures in portraits represents some type of royalty or an ideal figure which had made an impact. Sor Juana Inés was considered the first feminist in the americas on th other hand Marie -Antoinette was a royalty being the queen of France.
@apkarthistory I chose The Thematic Concept Portraiture and it can be seen in Self Portrait by Vigée-LeBurn and Portrait of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz by Miguel Cabrera.
@apkarthistory The Seated Boxer and The Seated Scribe are both similar in the manner that they both appear to be sitting down and both show more realistic features in the face and body.
@apkarthistory The line “Maybe it just sags like a heavy load” could be compared to JMB life because when he was younger he been through a lot after his accident making him carrying a lot on his back.
@apkarthistory@FABNEWYORK The Line “This is a song for a genius child” was found in Langston Hughes poem in which I compared it to JMB because he was surpassed all of the negativity he had encountered and being well recognized as a genius through multiple sources and people by his art.
@apkarthistory In the first part of the movie I came to understand that it was difficult for JMB to get a taxi for example so he was experiencing racism.
@apkarthistory JMB was introduced to his ideas of art at a young age by the book greys anatomy his mother had given him and like JMB I was introduced to a ball when i was young which had an impact of me liking to play soccer .
