@ALeighMP “There are no solutions, only tradeoffs.”
No one is asking for “worse public services” but Australians are saying we could do without a lot of them in return for lower inflation and lower taxes.
@AlboMP You mean the absolute minimum personal income tax cuts possible? 1 cent to the lowest bracket… while inflation eats 4% of purchasing power. No productivity improvements… so everyone’s getting poorer, mate.
@AustralianLabor That’s just inflation so no one’s any richer.
Matter of fact you’ve pushed ppl into higher tax brackets so their purchasing power is lower than it was.
@AlboMP This being the smallest tax cut possible…. A 1 cent change to the lowest tax bracket…
Just so you could say you cut taxes.
While inflation takes $4.5k of workers’ purchasing power you give $200 back.
@AlboMP “Since the property market seems to be going down we’ve decided to say ‘we meant to do that.’
We’re sure hoping the whole economy doesn’t go down with it, but if it does we’ll tell you that’s a good thing too.”
@AlboMP Does anyone AT ALL believe anything you touch is "free"?
You'll rob someone $2 to give someone else $1 & send $2 to the bureaucracy on the way through.
Saying 'free' should be illegal. It's higher taxes & higher inflation
@clairlemon@markgkenny Well said. There's a world of difference between what that article's author did & taking genuine risk to produce a product or service that you're not sure the market will accept.
@AlboMP@theheraldsun Just to be sure though @AlboMP , a tax payer on $100k gets a $268 tax cut from '26 to '27 financial year.
Meanwhile, their purchasing power is eroded by $3,800 due to inflation.
'Cutting income tax' by the absolute smallest amount possible just so you could say you cut it!
@TrungTPhan that's an absurd number of lines of code, even for a docusign replacement. I think something went wrong along or you're counting the framework.
@AlboMP You lie like you breathe.
You can't give income tax relieft because you're spending like a drunken sailor.
Australians can expect two things under your Government: more tax and more inflation
