As a sign of the Mandate of Heaven, God has added his own primordial fireworks to the celebration of our Semiquincentennial.
Glory to the United States of America! A thousand more years of greatness ahead!
🇺🇸
On this date 250 years ago, America was born, endowed with the virtues of freedom, pride, and patriotism.
The 56 patriots who pledged their fortunes, their lives, and their sacred honor gave us the greatest country the world has ever imagined.
So prior to the last crack of fireworks, or before the potato salad gets iffy, pause to embrace the brave souls who have protected our American freedoms for a 250 years!
Happy Independence Day, America! We love you!
The Supreme Court just overruled Humphrey's Executor in Trump v. Slaughter, holding the President can remove FTC commissioners at will. The dissent warns loudly about one danger — while ignoring a much bigger one. 🧵
Domestic energy production and infrastructure are moving to the center of federal legal and policy priorities. That creates real opportunities for companies but also new litigation, regulatory, and political risks. @AbhiKambli1984 and I wrote about what to watch.
The #DOJ has renamed its Environment and Natural Resources Division the Energy and Natural Resources Division. But this is more than a rebrand.
The change signals that the federal government increasingly treats energy security as a matter of national security, economic competitiveness, and consumer affordability, and that it's more willing to defend energy projects and challenge state and local overreach.
@BrianDNieves and @AbhiKambli1984 offer what this may mean for companies in #Energy, #Infrastructure, #Manufacturing, #Technology, and #NaturalResources, in terms of opportunities and litigation risks.

This is a big deal. For too long, the left used lawfare and bureaucracy to choke American energy. This renaming reflects the obvious: America First means energy dominance. President Trump is unleashing American energy and DOJ is helping defend it.
Energy security is national security. ENRD is now the Energy and Natural Resources Division, dropping the redundant reference to the environment and reflecting the key national security work our attorneys do day in and day out.

Completely incorrect framing of the issue. As SCOTUS is likely to rule this coming week when it addresses the termination of Cynthia Harris from MSPB, the President has inherent Article II authority to decide who gets to serve under him. There is no such thing as an Executive agency that is independent of the President and it should not be. The President is the only elected official that the entire country gets to vote on. If the President cannot direct his own agencies to carry out the agenda promised to voters, then there is no point to having an election and the voters lose out.
I’ve said it all month: the World Cup is a reminder that we live in the greatest country on Earth.
As America celebrates its 250th birthday, there’s no better time to celebrate what unites us, share our nation with the world, and proudly fly the Stars and Stripes 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
A great result. But it's also not even a remotely close legal question. Trump Admin should be as close to 100% likely to succeed as one could ever be, if the plaintiffs seek further review.
President Trump nominated @DAGToddBlanche to serve as Attorney General because he is committed to protecting election integrity, supporting law enforcement, and keeping communities safe.
The Senate should act swiftly to confirm the next leader of the Department of Justice!
Not at all the correct framing of what’s happening legally. It is Judge Brinkema and not DOJ that got it wrong. The issue here is whether the case is moot and senior administration officials signing a sworn declaration is irrelevant. I’ll explain.
Disparate impact prioritizes equity over equality, and produces DEI practices such as affirmative action.
@TheJusticeDept concluded disparate impact analysis is NOT consistent with SCOTUS precedent. @CivilRights will continue to protect and defend our color-blind Constitution!
“Today we regrettably had to sue the birthplace of this great Nation,” said @ASGWoodward. “But we will not sit by while Philadelphia flagrantly violates our Constitution, seeking to criminally punish our Nation’s law enforcement heroes merely for doing their job.”
.@DAGToddBlanche on joining the fight for America First principles:
“I went to night law school.
There are people who go to Yale, Harvard, clerk for the Supreme Court...
But if you don't have that opportunity, that doesn't mean your door is closed."
🔥Read it while its hot @TheJusticeDept OLC opinion about the Rehab Act & Americans with Disability Act. This reverses President Biden's perspective that those laws mandate a so-called "integration mandate" for compliance. This matters a lot for States and folks that need help.
Thank you to @Law360 Pulse for the feature! As I shared, “Clients are not simply hiring resumes; they are hiring judgment, perspective, and the ability to anticipate what may happen next.” That is exactly what drew me to @holtzmanvogel, a firm with a deep bench of experienced attorneys who help clients navigate their most complex legal, regulatory, congressional, and reputational challenges.

@jbtorc and Elizabeth Price Foley's op-ed in @WSJ examines how the Supreme Court's recent embrace of a colorblind Constitution, from Students for Fair Admissions to Louisiana v. Callais, is reshaping the legal landscape for "disparate impact" analysis.

"Todd Blanche is manifestly qualified, has shown his commitment to ending the lawfare that corroded public trust, and has earned the support of law-enforcement coalitions across the country... The Senate should confirm Todd Blanche."

Fantastic additions. Having had the privilege of working with all three, I can confidently say @A1Policy is getting a group of true rockstars! Looking forward to seeing all they accomplish.
