PM Carney claimed today that industrial carbon pricing has “zero” direct or indirect impact on food prices.
That is not true.
Ottawa’s own modelling estimated millions in carbon-pricing costs for food, beverage manufacturing in 2022, when the carbon tax was $20 per tonne. Now, it's $110 per tonne. Costs do not simply disappear.

This is one of the biggest and dumbest farces in all of Canada, if not the free world. Tamara Lich did nothing wrong and should be remembered by history as one of the great heroes of liberty. May her persecution end sooner than later, may she endure what she must with dignity, and may those her persecute her stumble over their own legacies of infamy and always be remembered for the monsters they are.
📢 I am getting really tired of finding out what my own government is doing from somebody else’s podium in some distant foreign land.
Canadians were told Mark Carney was going to diversify our trade. He was going to find us new customers and make us less dependent on the United States so future trade disruptions have less impact.
Okay… so diversify!
Nobody remembers voting to blow up the relationship with the country that buys roughly two thirds of our exports, walk away from a deal because American demands supposedly threatened our “flexibility, independence, and sovereignty,” and then start sidling up to Brussels looking for something called associate membership.
That was not in the Liberal election brochure. That was not on the election ballot either! And it was not explained to the people who actually live here.
Three days ago, Carney was asked about reports Canada was exploring EU associate membership. No, he said. Canada was not looking to become a member of the European Union. He wanted a “unique alliance.” Then he flew to Europe.
There he sat in the European Parliament while Ursula von der Leyen delivered her hour long prepared State of the Union speech and proposed that Canada become the first associate member of the EU, a position that does not even exist yet.
Well… that seems to have escalated quickly. Except it didn’t.
Jonathan Wilkinson, Canada’s incoming ambassador to the EU, wandered out afterward and ruined the surprise. They had already talked about it. They knew it was going to be on the table. So stop playing word games with Canadians Mark Carney.
I do not care whether Carney calls it membership, associate membership, a unique alliance, or European Friendship Deluxe with free continental breakfast. What are you actually negotiating?
Do we get a vote on EU rules Canada may be expected to follow? If Brussels changes those rules, can Canada say no? Can Parliament? What Canadian laws and provincial regulations are being discussed? What has Ottawa already promised?
And why do we need this at all?
We already have CETA. We are already negotiating a digital trade agreement. We are already cooperating with Europe on defence, critical minerals, energy and technology.
So what does associate membership add? And more importantly, what does Canada give up to get it?
This is where my patience finally runs out!😡
A real leader in a real democracy would put this in front of the country. A referendum with a crystal clear question requiring a simple yes or a no from the people who have to live with the answer. Instead we get word games, photo ops in Strasbourg, and a Prime Minister who treats the House like a demon treats holy water: he will not sit in it unless he has to!
Carney walked away from Washington telling Canadians sovereignty was the line in the sand. If that is in fact the case - the real reason sputtered by Carney, then explain something to me like I am sitting at my kitchen table in Saskatchewan trying to pay the power bill…
If another country having too much influence over Canadian economic decisions is a threat to our sovereignty, how does another political bloc having influence over Canadian economic decisions protect it? Does sovereignty expire somewhere over the Atlantic?
Washington wanting a say in Canadian decisions was apparently so intolerable as to warrant walking away from the negotiating table with America. If Brussels wants a say, we are supposed to call it strategic autonomy. That is quite a parlour trick. One superpower wanting a say is tyranny. A whole bloc wanting a say is statesmanship. Huh, how convenient.
And drop the piety for a minute. A lot of the people who built this country left Europe for a reason. They left class systems, imperial ministries, conscription, religious tests, and distant capitals that decided their lives without asking. They crossed an ocean so their kids would not live under somebody else’s “common space.”
So why the hell are we walking back into it with a smile and a press release?
Europe is not sitting around enjoying unprecedented prosperity while von der Leyen hands Canada the secret recipe. She is getting hammered inside Europe over competitiveness, sky high energy costs, poverty inducing climate policy, uncontrolled migration and the direction she is taking the bloc. EU governments are already questioning parts of this proposed Canadian relationship.
Meanwhile Carney and von der Leyen sound like somebody photocopied the same economic manual and handed each of them half: carbon, climate, economic security, strategic autonomy, integration... all the things that make them indistinguishable from each other. One works from Brussels. One works from Ottawa.
Maybe this arrangement is wonderful. Then show us. Tell Canadians what you have discussed, what you have promised, what we are expected to follow, and whether we actually get a vote.
Do not brief Europe first. Do not announce it from a foreign parliament. Do not hide behind “unique alliance” like that phrase is a substitute for consent. Carney made sovereignty the standard. Not me… him.
So I have one request for Mackenzie Gray, Judy Trinh and every other journalist who gets close enough to stick a microphone in front of the Prime Minister.
Ask him.
Mr. Carney, if Canada could not accept becoming a rule taker for Washington because we are a sovereign country, why should Canadians accept becoming a rule taker for Brussels?
And if this is such a gift, why will you not put it to a national referendum instead of stepping around the people and the Parliament that is supposed to speak for them?
Please do not let him answer a different question. Canadians have been handled enough. At the core, it’s the same country, same sovereignty, and the same test.
Until we know what the hell they are signing us up for: Do not sign a damn thing!

Ontario Justice Gethin Edward should be sanctioned and removed from the bench for this insanity.
This person got blind drunk, got behind the wheel and killed a 12 year old girl. Nobody poured the booze down his throat or forced him to drive. It was his decision, no matter what his background is.
The judge claims prison time would obstruct his efforts to "regain his culture".
How about the young girl's ability to grow up and live her life?
The Canadian Press has seriously undermined its moral credibility.
Using the September 11 attacks primarily as a vehicle for discussing Islamophobia demonstrates remarkably poor editorial judgment. Those attacks were perpetrated by 19 Islamist terrorists who murdered nearly 3,000 people, most of them Americans.
For anyone old enough to remember September 11, the day remains profoundly painful and disturbing. Most of us remember exactly where we were when it happened. Anniversary coverage should focus first on the victims, the events themselves and how they changed the world forever—not subordinate that history to a contemporary political narrative.
CP is not simply another newspaper: it is Canada’s national wire service. Its journalists produce stories that are distributed to subscribing newspapers, broadcasters and digital platforms across the country, where they may be published largely unchanged under a Canadian Press byline. That gives its editorial choices enormous reach. A questionable framing does not remain confined to one newsroom—it can be reproduced nationwide and presented as authoritative reporting.
Canada faces a broader problem with the quality, balance and intellectual diversity of its media coverage. This may help explain the increasingly reflexive anti-Americanism shaping our public discourse. When a national wire service amplifies ideology instead of scrutinizing it, the effects reverberate throughout the entire media ecosystem. Informed debate suffers—and our democracy becomes more fragile by the day.
🚨 Carney warns of economic pain from U.S. tariffs clash...🤦🏼♀️
Canadians voted for Mark Carney to HANDLE the crisis with the United States. They did not vote to hand Mr. Banker the keys and let him fundamentally restructure Canada's relationship with our largest customer while we're strapped into the passenger seat paying for it.
Remember the sales pitch?
I distinctly recall Carney uttering such lines as "diversify trade," "reduce our vulnerability," and "get a deal with Trump." Now suddenly we're undergoing a grand economic "pivot" away from the United States that Carney tells us will come "at a cost."
Excuse me? That's one hell of a renovation to announce AFTER you've been given the keys. The United States has been integrated into our economy for generations. You don't replace geography, supply chains, customers and billions in daily cross-border trade with a PowerPoint presentation and a few overseas handshakes and luxury Normandy Buttertarts.Yet apparently this was always the plan!
Really?! Because Carney campaigned as the seasoned crisis manager who could deal with Trump. He didn't campaign on fundamentally reorienting Canada's entire economy and then informing Canadians afterward that the transformation would require their sacrifice. I find it rather suspicious how that brochure conveniently never made it to the mailbox.
In October 2025, Carney made Canadians a promise:
"I will always be straight about the challenges we have to face and the choices we must make."
Excellent... then be straight with us right now and SHOW US THE DAMN DEAL!
If the American offer was so appalling that Canadian workers, families and businesses should now accept higher costs, disrupted industries and billions in government support while Carney executes his magnificent pivot, Canadians have every right to see what we're supposedly sacrificing ourselves to avoid.
Instead, we're treated to performative transparency theatre from a Prime Minister whose own financial affairs required a conflict screen covering 103 companies, while Canadians are expected to simply trust that everything behind the curtain of Oz is perfectly splendid.
Apparently our role is simply to trust that the conflicts are managed, the secret negotiations are brilliant, the pivot nobody voted for is necessary, and the billions required to soften the landing are merely another delightful coincidence.
And... apparently, the new societal expectation is unrequited trust that this enormous economic transformation was what we voted for all along, and to oppose or criticise it, is to "punch down" and hate on Canada. The arrogance is both breathtaking and gobsmacking!
Diversifying Canadian trade is prudent. Using "diversification" as retroactive permission to dramatically restructure our relationship with the world's largest economy is something else entirely.
Carney wasn't elected Canada's managing director with authority to wholly restructure the company while the shareholders sit blindfolded in the lobby. And if @MarkJCarney really intends to "always be straight" with Canadians, he can start by showing us what the hell we're being asked to sacrifice for. Until then, apparently Canadian democracy works like a software update:
Nobody read the new terms, nobody remembers agreeing to them, and #MarkCarney clicked ACCEPT ALL on behalf of 41 million people. Our new reality in Canadian democracy now comes with terms and conditions subject to change after purchase. I would like to unsubscribe from Carney's free trial of economic transformation now, before he finds my credit card. #cdnpoli

The Great Barrier Reef's “obituary” was written again and again.
But the patient didn’t comply: the five best years in the monitoring record are the five most recent.
The reason you may not have heard this: alarming predictions are prominently reported, but rarely revisited when catastrophe fails to arrive.

this image always makes me rethink what I know about Starship…
The scale is just absurd. Even after seeing it a hundred times, your brain still struggles to process how massive this thing actually is
One of these women were ruthlessly murdered on public transit, the other murdered her 3 children in cold blood.
Guess which one liberal women support.
We live in a demented world.
I am 62 years old. On September 11, 2001, I watched the planes hit the World Trade Center towers with my own eyes. Nearly 3,000 people were murdered that day in a coordinated attack planned and carried out by al-Qaeda. The hijackers acted with clear political and religious intent. That was a terrorist attack—by every definition that matters.
CBC has now circulated internal guidance telling its journalists not to call the September 11 attacks “terrorist attacks.” Their preferred wording is “the Sept. 11 attacks” or “hijackings that led to passenger jet crashes.” This is not neutral journalism. It is an attempt to soften and reframe documented history.
The facts have not changed. The videos exist. The 9/11 Commission Report exists. The claims of responsibility by the perpetrators exist. Softening the language does not change what happened, who did it, or why. For those of us who lived through it, and for the next generation that did not, this kind of institutional word-policing is unacceptable.
A publicly funded broadcaster should not be in the business of diluting the plain truth about the deadliest terrorist attack in modern history. Canadians deserve accurate language that matches the record—not carefully curated phrasing designed to avoid calling terrorism by its name.
Something has to change. CBC needs to reverse this guidance and call the September 11 attacks what they were. @CBCOmbud
The @OttawaPolice offered Detective Helen Grus a deal...
If she apologized for starting her investigation - if she abandoned her duty to the public, and to the deceased infants and their families - she would be spared the ordeal of the past four years.
If she wouldn't mention that five of the dead infants died from causes that are listed as adverse effects of the COVID vaccines.
IF she would just not talk about the NINE infant deaths. that Ottawa Police are covering up.
Helen Grus refused that deal. She remained true to her oath and to her personal integrity. And for that, she and her family have paid dearly - with hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal expenses and four years of attacks.
They stopped Detective Grus because her inquiries threatened to reveal what many medical researchers – and the Pfizer documents – have since confirmed many times over: COVID vaccines can kill and injure infants in the womb and the newly born.
And so it was that the Ottawa Police – under the proven influence of Public Health Agency of Canada personnel – suspended, investigated, charged, convicted and punished Detective Helen Grus of ‘Discreditable Conduct’ over an ‘unauthorized investigation’.
They even illegally wiretapped Helen and her family in an act of intimidation that yielded no evidence.
The internal Tribunal that convicted and sentenced Helen Grus was biased to the core.
Tribunal Officer Chris Renwick refused to allow medical, legal, and police expert witnesses who could prove that Detective Grus was both correct in her suspicions and had a legal right and duty to investigate the infant deaths.
Just before Detective Grus was to testify, an Ottawa Police Inspector sent her a criminally threatening email - demanding that she withhold specific evidence and documents from the Tribunal. That’s a criminal offense in Canada: witness tampering and obstruction of justice.
The Inspector resigned shortly thereafter.
I am not angry at the conviction and sentencing of Detective Helen Grus.
I am saddened because it proves that the profession I loved and dedicated my life to is gone. Corrupt. Owned by politics and political agendas.
Tribunal Officer Chris Renwick, and Ottawa Chief of Police Eric Stubbs have no idea what they have just unleashed.
Love sharing this again from time to time. IDF soldiers saved a dog from Gaza, brought him to Israel, and found him a lovely home with a loving family. Look at how happy he is.
He will finally live a happy, loving life, just the way he deserves.
The most important and eye opening 6 minutes you will listen to today.
Dr. Charles Hoffe who is a family doctor from Southern British Columbia describes how he was told never to speak badly about the vaccine even though his patients were experiencing adverse reactions to them. On top of it, all of is adverse side effects reports he submitted were censored.
What went on during this time was criminal.
I need someone to explain to me how Shaun Chen is claiming flights back and forth from Toronto to Ottawa when there is a video of him saying he is in China at the exact same time
