#ProtectedAndPaid#CloseTheLibraries
Hello and thanks for following this account. For good labor journalism I recommend https://t.co/FPGC862oCN in general, and in particular want to highlight this @LibraryJournal article: https://t.co/M9L6nKEO8X
The demonization of incarcerated people has allowed for this...just like there was no public outcry when public housing was demolished leaving thousands with nowhere to live. Society justifies this brutality by dehumanizing and blaming the folks—Black folks— in these situations
@Caffeinebrarian @uconnlibrary If you have more job security than me, would you be willing to stick your neck out a bit? I'm open to other ideas to getting the word out, I'm just not super familiarized with the professional associations landscape. I'm a para with no degree.
@Caffeinebrarian @uconnlibrary I'd love to try and use this account as a focal point for statewide organizing. I tried sending an email out to the CSL-CONNTECH listserv from an email address with a fake name (to avoid retaliation from my admin) but the moderators deleted it.
Nora Flanagan is our solid-as-a-rock, Nazi-punching CTU delegate who's always got your back (as long as you come correct). Tuesday afternoon, though, she was a puddle of tears. Here are five reasons why, and five ways it's going to get better. https://t.co/PBE035jWuK
Shoutout to @owl_librarians, @westportlibrary, and @darienlibrary for putting peoples' health FIRST and closing to both the public and staff. Are you all still paying staff their normal wages, or having them use their accrued paid time off instead, or are they furloughed etc?
