@narendramodi Press conference? Sir, are you in a long distance relationship with India? You can only be bothered to text us once in a while but don’t want to talk to us?? Don’t you love us anymore Modu? Italy treating you better?
AI comes after the Indian Jugaad for not getting a Challan. How on earth anyone can penalise this type of vehicles if found guilty of breaking the rule? @NHAI_Official@odisha_police
I demanded in Parliament that PATERNITY LEAVE should be a legal right in India.
When a child is born, both parents are congratulated. But caregiving responsibility falls on one. The mother.
A father should not have to choose between caregiving for his newborn and keeping his job. And a mother should not have to go through childbirth & recovery without her husband’s support
Right after childbirth the woman, needs her husband’s presence the most. The husband’s caregiving responsibility towards his wife is equally important.
I raised this issue in Parliament because caregiving is a shared responsibility. Our laws must reflect that.
Congratulations to the BJP Government of Odisha on presenting another budget.
It is quite disappointing that the Double Engine Government is taking Odisha in reverse direction after promising moon for the people of Odisha. Welcome to the new era where every newborn child in Odisha will be welcomed with a per-capita loan burden of nearly 30,000 rupees.
When BJD Govt assumed office, Odisha’s revenues were used to repay loans and service debts, leaving very little funds available for development projects or people’s welfare. With years of meticulous planning and fiscal prudence, we reduced the loan burden drastically. Financially we were the best managed state in country.
But the BJP Govt is well on its course to make Odisha a bankrupt state soon. The total debt is soon going to touch 1,30,000 crore rupees. This will strain Odisha’s finances, derail state’s development momentum and welfare of the people.
People of Odisha hoped that the Double Engine will bring double benefit-Grant-In-Aid from Centre will double. But unfortunately, Central remittances to Odisha are shrinking year after year-especially during last two years.
Glad that Hon’ble Chief Minister has given tribute to the farmers in this speech. But the budget has fallen short in addressing the real issues of farmers. All grand promises without any focus on the development of the state.
In short: The budget is like a full menu in an empty kitchen.
Finally the country is waking up. It's good to see people are fed up with this VIP drama and obstruction of roads for convoy to pass. Tomorrow, when Libertarians form a govt. and if such obstruction continues, please honk like hell and it's OK.
It has come to notice that misleading information related to new tax regime is being spread on some social media platforms. It is therefore clarified that:
👉 There is no new change which is coming in from 01.04.2024.
👉 The new tax regime under section 115BAC(1A) was introduced in the Finance Act 2023, as compared to the existing old regime (without exemptions) (SEE TABLE BELOW)
👉 New tax regime is applicable for persons other than companies and firms, is applicable as a default regime from the Financial Year 2023-24 and the Assessment Year corresponding to this is AY 2024-25.
|👉 Under the new tax regime, the tax rates are significantly lower, though the benefit of various exemptions and deductions (other than standard deduction of Rs. 50,000 from salary and Rs. 15,000 from family pension) is not available, as in the old regime.
👉 New tax regime is the default tax regime, however, tax payers can choose the tax regime (old or new) that they think is beneficial to them.
👉 Option for opting out from the new tax regime is available till filing of return for the AY 2024-25. Eligible persons without any business income will have the option to choose the regime for each financial year. So, they can choose new tax regime in one financial year and old tax regime in another year and vice versa.
Glad to flag off first flight between #Bhubaneswar and newly inaugurated Utkela Airport in #Kalahandi district. The airport has added yet another golden chapter to #Odisha's aviation sector. It will boost connectivity, commerce & tourism, fulfilling aspirations of people of the region.

Thread of traditions: an amazing fashion show on Odisha’s magical hand weaves during National Handloom Week celebrations. Thank my Boyanika team for a brilliant event.
I confess I had no clue about this spot. Have to figure out whether I’m up to this challenge! The trek to the top of the Kalavantin Durg is considered one of the most daunting in the Western Ghats. A roughly 60-degree incline.
