On June 2, 2025, Sergeant of the Guard Sgt. 1st Class Andrew Jay took his final walk as a Tomb Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. In a powerful farewell, he laid roses at each crypt of the Unknown Soldiers, then walked off the plaza hand in hand with his 8-year-old son, Finn.
I drove by a restaurant today after a meeting that I haven’t seen in years. In 1998 the staff refused to serve me and laughed at me, after my jaw, pallet, and seven teeth were broken from a machine gun. Treat people with dignity and respect everyday… Thanks.
@HamRadioVillage Neat! I brought my son with me to HRO in Virginia this weekend. They gave him the same radio, since someone purchased a nicer radio and wanted their old radio to be given to the next young person who came through the door. He has been busy since learning new things…
Excited to share that my PhD. thesis "Securing New Space: On Satellite Cyber-Security" has been deposited in the Oxford Research Archive. Check it out here if you're interested: https://t.co/Oe0SaFwSio
Very sad to learn about the death of Alan Paller, a dear friend & mentor who cared deeply about making things more secure & bringing more young people into infosec w/ the right skills. Alan was great at making important things happen behind the scenes. https://t.co/K2MSSoywd2
#OnThisDay 100 years ago, the WWI Unknown Soldier was buried at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in ANC. A grand military procession transported him from the U.S. Capitol to ANC’s Memorial Amphitheater.
There, he was honored with a state funeral before being buried in the Tomb.
Often asked if a red team should be comprised of insiders or outsiders. Just came across this CIA memo, "The 'Red Team'," Jan. 27, 1984, which presents the pros and cons perfectly. https://t.co/SZPlOw8Huo
Yesterday, members from five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, the U.S. Army Band, & the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) Caisson Platoon honored the late Gen. (ret.) Colin Powell during a special military funeral.

Earlier today, @1st_SF_Command held a wreath-laying ceremony at the gravesite of President John F. Kennedy to commemorate Kennedy’s contributions to the U.S. Army Special Forces, including authorizing the “Green Beret” as the official headgear for all U.S. Army Special Forces.
Totally agree with @RobertMLee. I studied public policy/economics/national security, with a minor in Russian Studies in college. Since cybersecurity problems are not purely technical, we need expertise from many fields in cybersecurity.
Some interesting PhDs on cyber conflict / policy were written that never made it into books/articles etc. They may not have received the attention they deserve. Some of my favorites:
