via @NYTOpinion Great piece that resonates with how I see the US medical industry. I suspect that insurance companies play a huge part in wrestling control of medicine away from doctors, nurses and other medical professionals. #medicine#healthcare https://t.co/Pn1m41cSN3
The Day’s All-Area Swimmer of the Year is Fitch co-op’s Delaney Reck (from Stonington). I loved our conversation … about band, the environment and Gettysburg, with a little swimming mixed in. #ctswim https://t.co/9U3gqvtf60
And my own statement added on that we pay far too much attention to the presidential election and far too little attention, if any, to state and local government, which has significantly more impact on our day to day lives. /4
And continuing—“In doing so, we let ourselves off the hook for any responsibility either for our own actions as voters, or for any requirement to face our problems together with resilience and understanding.”/3
There is lot to understand about #healthcare spending and costs. Sometimes these two are unrelated. We know very little about either. Todays @axios is one reminder. 1 big thing: Health care consumers feeling the economic sting https://t.co/seF56fw9Kz #axiosvitals
What we should do (and I’m just as guilty of being lazy here) is participate in our town and city management. Attend committee meetings and ask questions. Call and write (email) your commission members. Write letters to the editor in local papers.
Just one article recounting the events in #Uvalde. We (American citizens) need to demand more from our public servants. Pay at least as much attention to local politics as we do to national elections. via @nytimes #localpolitics#elections#ourtown https://t.co/CJSYdicrRo
I don’t think we demand enough from our local politicians and government employees. We spend an inordinate amount of our time giving attention to national politics, which has much less effect on our day-to-day living as we tend to ascribe.

@astolier@TrungTPhan@DianeHartley And this says a lot about LeMessurier, who apparently had the humility to admit the flaw and then mobilize to engineer a fix.
Thursdays storm in New York disrupted thousands of travelers as flights were cancelled up and down the eastern half of the US. Could high speed #electric rail alleviate this?
The US has never embraced the idea of #highspeedrail . Another indication that we should look harder at it. American Airlines offers 'bus-as-flight' connections in Pennsylvania and New Jersey https://t.co/kd7UxcYcsB
@stephend50@BobbyT8080@RadioFreeTom I think that most people value other things over travel. There are ways to see somewhere else other than your home town/city/state/country. Military overseas duty, public service, vagabonding, mission work. Yes, it all involves some sort of sacrifice.
