Halifax Panthers are saddened to announce the passing of former Director and Chairman, Bob Sweeney after a short illness aged 91.
In his early years, Bob was a professional wrestler before opening Olympic Heath Studios, a chain of fitness clubs inspired by his love of body building.
He became a Director of the club in 2003 and, along with his family, never stopped supporting us and local grass roots sports. He was a regular in our Hospitality Suite and was known and loved for his stories from his amazing life.
Our thoughts are with his wife, Petra, sons Gareth, Robert and Ryan and his friends and family.
He will be remembered with a minutes silence at our next home game at The Shay.
