Put that together with political hack Pulte's odious appt as DNI; election deniers in the most sensitive oversight positions; Trump's exec order on mail-in voting, and potential use of the Postal Service as a weapon of subversion; his pathological prioritization of the SAVE act, which would be the most powerful voter suppression tool in generations; and his persistent, unfounded claims of election fraud, which he uses to justify extraordinary federal interventions.
On the square, the @GOP would take a beating this fall, largely because of Trump's unpopularity.
So he's setting up Plan B--do whatever you need to do to win. Anything.
Anyone who says "Well, he wouldn't do THAT" hasn't paid attention. He's already proven he will!
So the period AFTER the Midterms may be even more turbulent than the run up to them.
The courts are going to be very busy this fall.

FREYA Is The Reason.
This week, President Trump announced the US will allow Ukraine to build Patriot missiles. If you were surprised, you weren’t paying attention.

The defense tech coming out of Ukraine is staggering, both quality and scale. As stated before, European nations have been acquiring much of this tech while US leadership continued the ‘Ukraine has no cards,’ mantra.

Weeks ago, Ukraine announced it will build a Patriot-like system called Freya. It appears the White House finally woke up.

Freya is a threat to the US defense industrial base. A Ukraine built Freya air defense system will be (a) less expensive, (b) built at volume, (c) unencumbered by US military foreign sales backlogs / red tape and more. It will harm Patriot sales in Europe (and beyond), reduce Raytheon’s bottom line and be another example of strengthening European security (and weakening US).

Hence, Trump has offered Ukraine the IP and rights to build Patriot missiles. Frankly, it’s a salvage operation. While not optimal, Ukraine built Patriot missiles will generate a small revenue stream back into Raytheon pockets, albeit likely not the pockets of its workforce… some of which will possibly lose their jobs.

And this is why many like myself have been so critical of the US position. Ukraine’s defense tech boom is akin to the California gold rush. The Europeans have spent a year panning for gold, and Trump’s team is only beginning to assemble their wagon train in DC.

Worth pointing out that Quansah’s “crime” is the same in FIFA terms as Folarin Balogun’s - serious foul play. Quansah’s one-game ban has been extended to two. Balogun’s was suspended for 12 months when Donald Trump made a phone call.

@RobDorsettSky Imho VAR by the way FIFA as operated it at #worldcup2026 is biasing the ref review by opening with still of the offence - they then run back on a few seconds of play. They could probably find fault in lots of challenges in an instanteous momment.

Take a close look at the assistant referee on the touchline. He clearly witnessed Mohamed Salah being shoved from behind on two separate occasions, yet failed to alert the referee or intervene in any way. These incidents were in plain view and should not have been ignored.

FIFA have lost control of their own tournament. From the moment Donald Trump made the call to get Balogun off the hook, it left them in utter disarray. From now on, every decision will be greeted with accusations of double standards. It's why the only way FIFA can regain respect and control is for Gianni Infantino to resign.
