There is absolutely no chance of an Andes hantavirus pandemic happening in a society where people understand airborne transmission, pre-symptomatic transmission, ventilation, masks, incubation periods, and isolation.
Sadly, that's not us.
@melanie_ward I don’t know the current ratio but it used to be 2.54 children. Why wasn’t the cap raised to that or even 3 rather than removing it entirely?
“We’re seeing job losses. We’re seeing fewer young people coming into the industry.”
Our member Kathy Milavic-Davies, Managing Director of @llewelynslondon, speaks to @Channel4News about how rising costs are hitting hospitality businesses.
@RachelReevesMP If the hospitality sector is the 3rd largest employer but only the 5th biggest in financial terms do you think it just might be disproportionately affected by your changes?
Maybe health journalists here should be letting people know that three times as many people are dying from infections as were before we let covid rip.
As the *single underlying cause* of death.
It's a complete absence of responsibility.
🚨Breaking:
Key vital finding of the covid inquiry.
Exactly what we've been saying for six years.
COVID IS AIRBORNE AND FOCUSING ON CONTACT TRANSMISSION WAS A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE.
But there's a big mistake here:
🚨It wasn't just in the early stages of the pandemic...

COVID-19 is not just a respiratory virus. It's a vascular virus that has broad, systemic impacts on blood vessels, the immune system, and every organ in the body. If you believe otherwise, you've been deceived. We deserve better than lies and abandonment. It's time we demand it.
The thing about an exponential curve is that from week to week you glance at it and it never appears to change shape.
Except the numbers on the side double, and double, and double, and double, and double, and double, and double.
BA.3.2 Cicada and family:
This ⬇️ is a must-read thread from @1goodtern.
The sickness trends are VERY worrying.
Importantly:
▪️The charts are for newly-qualified doctors. Aging population is not playing a role.
▪️These are sickness rates per 100k so account for changing numbers of NHS staff over time.
Imagine if the world's sixth largest employer, with one point five four million employees, about 5% of its country's workforce, published data showing there had been:
1) A 50% rise in staff deaths,
2) A 50% rise in retirement of staff due to ill health,
3) A 30% rise in sickness absence rates,
all of which has happened in the six years since they started catching Covid.
And everyone in the country ignored it and pretended it wasn't happening, even though the data was all public and easily available.
Journalists, politicians, the employees of that organisation, the public, all of them just denying reality.
You don't need to imagine, of course, because it's not a hypothetical.
It's absolutely real.
A whole hospitality problem demands a whole hospitality solutions - independent, neighbourhood, high street businesses are important ecinimically, socially and culturally

I don't know if I've written a more important thread.
I just wish someone in authority would take it on board.
